This was a request, not necessarily directed towards me, but I did it anyway.

Hawks | Takami Keigo x Gen. Reader, Eraserhead | Aizawa Shouta x Gen. Reader

Gender neutral reader, they/them pronouns. Tried to make sure I didn't mention anything specific about appearance (like skin blushing or height differences, let me know if I messed up somewhere).

Contains: Angst, hurt/comfort, mentions of someone close to the reader passing, hyperventilation/possible panic attack (not in detail, only breathing is mentioned), mentions of harmful ways to cope with grief (nothing specific), maybe slight slight mention of Oboro (he's not even named), let me know if I missed anything! This isn't proofread btw

It wasn't anything big. If anything, it was a fleeting memory. But at the same time, it was everything, and it was too much.

(Name) had just been going about their routine, hoping that the familiarity would bring a sense of comfort. They were walking past a café―they walk past it almost everyday―and the scent of coffee and cinnamon took over them. It was almost like they were rooted to the ground, heart seized, and mind frozen. It takes them a full minute to fix the sudden delay, but there is an emotional detachment and the need to get back home.

Now, they are home and sitting listlessly in their favorite armchair. They unconsciously tap their foot, fingers fiddling with each other, while the sound of the city creates background noise that slightly aggravates them. They rub their hands over their face and keeps them there, leaning forward in their chair with a heavy sigh. There's a surge in their chest and suddenly there are tears stinging their eyes. Shoulders bounce as sobs begin to fall out of their mouth. Breathing is hard to do. The urge to distract and cope in harmful ways come to mind, but they shake their head, knowing they shouldn't.

A hand comes to rest on their knee, and they jump, head whipping up in surprise.

Hawks | Takami Keigo

Keigo looks up from his position on the floor, his golden eyes meeting (Name)'s. He gently rubs his hand on their knee, and (Name) releases another sob, the final wall coming down with a noticeable crash. Keigo squeezes their knee.

"Hey, sweetheart." His voice is warm and soft. "Can you try to take a breath for me? Do you think you can that?"

(Name) gives a small nod, sucking in air. Their exhale comes out in stutters.

"Breathe slowly, hon. You can do it."

They shut their eyes, forcing themselves to control their intake and exhale by the second, starting small and adding a second or two more once they've mastered the time before. All the while, Keigo's hand never leaves, keeping a warm anchor while they slowly come back to him.

"That's it, baby. You got it."

They sniffle, feeling snot dribbling from their nose. They blink away some of the wetness from their eyes. Keigo wordlessly brings over a tissue box with a feather, pulling out a couple of tissues and handing them over. (Name) blows their nose, wiping away the mess their tears brought. They sniffle again.

Keigo smiles, raising a hand to brush away a stray tear. He makes sure that they can easily pull away if they're uncomfortable. When (Name) doesn't move away, he tenderly caresses their cheek, feeling the heated skin.

"You did great, baby. So good." (Name) leans into his hand, eyes hot and heavy. "Do you feel a little better?"

They nod, letting out a little sigh. They rub a hand over their other cheek, wiping away the trails that came from their eye and down to their chin. They reach over, wrapping their arms around Keigo's neck and shoulders. Their back aches in slight protest but they ignore it for the secure arms embracing them. A hand goes up and down their back, and they run a hand through the man's blond hair before pulling away.
