      I was only 13 and i was already applying for the emperors coven I was excelling in all my physical tests. butttt the written ones were disastrous, enough to bring my grades down. I was stumped and trying to think of reasons i should be allowed in for my application.

"maybe if i just lie? No way... I wish i could just show them my skills in person..."

Right after i said that i thought of a great idea! the schools always does this weird event where prodigys can compete, and a coven head is watching. Apparently they used to do something similar until Tera Snapdragon hosted it. Anyway I decided to ask principal Bump if i could be this year's volunteer.

"HE SAID YES!" I screamed into my crystal ball.

"Thats great y/n! This is your chance to show your skills!" Em said smiling.

"Im glad you're being so supportive. I really thought you were gonna try all you can to get me not to join."

"y/n even if im against it, your dream is your dream." Titan i love her.

"Oh i got to go shower now. See you later!" And i hung up. The event is in two days so i have to be ready!
(time skip two days)

Finally it was time for the event. I heard from some other kids that it'll be a tournament style event and the winner fights Belo's future right hand man. I let out a breath. I was so nervous. Lucky inside there was lots of snacks,

"Attention everyone." I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT! It was head witch Darius! "Its time to begin this year's tournament. Everyones name has been placed on a chart in order of who will go first and who they will face. First up shall meet in the circle."

It didn't take long for me to find my name and I was going 15th. the battles passed by and soon it was my turn. I was facing against some lanky boy which i bet easily with a fire spell. After beating lots of easy opponents I only had to beat one last person before facing off against the future golden guard. I was terrified! One mistake and i was out and i would never be noticed by the coven heads. I almost hyperventilated until I heard a voice.

    "Hey you were doing great out there."

It was a weird voice but not bad then i caught my breath and looked over and my eyes widened.

"Nervous?" He chuckled. "Dont worry me too."

IT WAS THE GOLDEN GUARD. I have no idea what i was thinking but after that i just stuffed some sweets in my mouth like a rat.

There was this amazing witch in the tournament. I was watching them the whole time. They looked hard to beat. I saw them after they had just beat a tough witch. With my masked confidence I decided to approach them.

  "hEy you were doing great out there." I swear my voice cracked...

I noticed they were having trouble breathing so i assumed they were nervous. But the they looked at me and their eyes widened. Now i'm even more nervous. But i was still able to say,

"Nervous?" I chuckled. "Dont worry me too." Titan I probably sounded so cool. Im so glad I can finally talk to witches my age well they looked a year or two younger than me...

"uhm..." I said as They started stuffing sweets in their mouth. Maybe this person isn't suited for the emperors coven. I think they realized what they were doing and swallowed the cupcakes.

"Ah-ha... Sorry..."

Their voice was really pretty. They held out their hand and said.

"Im y/n, Im nonbinary." They chuckled nervously. I was scared because i had no idea what that is-

A/N Hunter definitely isn't cultured in lgbtq+ so y/n probably taught him.

I nervously coughed and shock their hand.
"Your pronouns?" They said.

Ohhh pronouns like he? I thought. "he?" I said unsure. And they chuckled.

"Im excited to fight you..." They said and they smirked. They looked very confident which worried me.

We parted ways but we would soon see each other on the battlefield. My last opponent wasn't as hard as i thought. But I noticed my stomach was starting to bother me. Finally me and the golden guard stood across each other ready to fight.

The fight started and he teleported around a lot trying to catch me off guard. But i would be able to blast him with a fire spell. He did dodge a lot though.

"Heh you're pretty good witch..."

Titan that caught me off guard... His voice was so deep and low. I was distracted. And i just barely dodged his attacks. But then i started to feel awful, the more i moved the worse i felt. He noticed i was slowing down.

"What is it? Is the little witch all out of energy?" He said teasingly.

Man he kinda sucks..

"Ugh i think i ate too many-"

Then i threw up everywhere.... I was sent home after i got a change of clothes.

"TITAN EMIRAAA I BLEW IT!"

I sobbed into her arms. After that freak show i decided i needed my favorite twins to cheer me up.

"Now ill never get into the emperors coven!" "Oh come on y/n don't say that!" Edric said hugging my side.

"Yea y/n! From what you said you kicked the other competitors butts."

They always know how to cheer me up. Just as we were all hugging in my room. My doorbell rang, which ruined the mood. But luckily Emira got up and went and got the door.

Emira left the room to answer the door but right as she did she winked at me... Basically shes giving me a chance to be alone with y/n...
They snuggled into my arm. It was so cute- i coughed awkwardly.

"Ugh those sweats really did a number on me-"

"do you feel like you're gonna hurl again?" I kindly rubbed their shoulder hoping to ease them.

"i don't know my stomach is doing cartwheels right now." They didn't look too good so i handed them some water.

"GUYS OMG-" Emira screamed from the living room then she ran into y/n's room.

"What?" I said curiously. She was holding a envelope.

"LOOK!!" She pointed at the emperor's coven logo on the envelope and y/n shot up and squealed.

SURE im happy that they get to live out their dream. But what if the coven takes them away?

The letter read:
Dear y/n we are happy to say that your results in the tournament impressed head witch Darius greatly. He submitted a request for you to join us in scout training in the castle, and meet with the emperor.
