What does it mean, when one calls themselves a stray dog?
In a metaphorical sense, of course. Unless one could literally be compared to the actual animal that is living its difficult life on the streets.
But perhaps it could be taken literally, but at the same time, not. After all, those two words held obvious definitions that most people would know.
A stray meant one is lost or simply aimlessly wandering. Dogs were the common targets of that very word, as they were the most common animals one would see wandering the streets besides cats. Stray dogs run without a destination. They live their lives simply focusing on relying on their survival instincts.
There are countless people that are just like that, regardless of race.
They try to survive, while trying to find the 'correct' way to live their lives. There are some who find their purpose and live in comfort in that fact, and there are some who don't and still suffer trying to find it.
It is irrelevant whether the environment around them is as harsh as the slums, or as comfortable in a warm home. It could be either unfortunate circumstances, or one isn't simply satisfied enough with what they have.
That was currently the case of a certain Cale Henituse.

*This story has a lot of manga spoilers. Don't read if you don't want to.
Cale's past life is an OC. But since this is a Bungou Stray Dogs crossover, I based my OC on a real life author.
Can anyone guess which author I chose? *Hint: It's not a Korean author.
But unfortunately, there won't be many references regarding the author I chose, since I'm not that well-versed in literature (and I don't have any money to read any novels or sign up for a subscription).
The Soos trio still exists here. They are personally connected with Cale back in his past life. There are also great changes to the monster situation back on Earth due to the presence of BSD Ability Users.
The plot will still progress more or less the same since Cale read TBOAH and he has similarities with KRS.
However, Cale is still his own character and he has his own backstory that is different from KRS.
