Genres And Tropes In MDZS Fanfiction

Part 1

MY FAVOURITES 🥰:

1.) Time-Traveling/Rebirth (whatever you want to call it) in the past OR going back in time:

Now, I don't know about you but I LOVE this trope where Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji or more mdzs characters go back in time and fix their mistakes and prevent certain things from happening or find some other way.

Tags like #sort of fix-it, #fix-it, or #Everyone lives, always make me want to read their fanfics because its self-healing, and anytime I think of the struggle and pain most mdzs characters go through, it makes me feel sad, so its kind of a stressed-reliever.

Also, future married Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji in their past bodies and being romantic ( I can see a lot of funny and confused reactions from past mdzs characters)

Another one is when mdzs characters' future kids or children go back in the past and meet their parents when they were younger.
Sometimes some fluff and light-heartedness are good for the soul.

2.) Mdzs Characters watching the Novel happening as a show:

One thing I LOVE about the trope is that Mdzs characters or cultivators are seeing it from Wei Wuxian's perspective or his point of view.

Another reason is when their future or past selves (the audience) regret how they treated Wei Wuxian, Wen Qing, Wen Ning, and the rest of the Wen family after the war and other mdzs characters.

Also, I LOVE how sometimes mdzs characters try to change for the better and how some use this opportunity to stop certain characters from turning evil and to prevent tragedies from happening.

3.) Arrange Marriage Or Marriage:

Ever wonder what would happen if Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji had an arranged marriage between them?

OR

If they had married before all the tragedies happened.

I can see some fluff and cute moments, I can also see them being a power couple and getting together quicker in a sense.

Also, I love seeing future married Wangxian being shameless, and being happy.

One of my first mdzs fanfics was about how Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji got married, and all the funny adventures they had along the way.

4.) Being Together BEFORE a lot of Problems Happen in the Novel:

So basically being in an established relationship or couple before conflicts start to happen in the novel.

I Love it!!

Example: Wei Wuxian x Lan Wangji, Jin Zuxian x Jiang Yanil, etc.

4.5) Knowing what's going to happen:

I love the trope where the characters know what's going to happen in the future and try to prevent it from happening.

5.) Immortal or God Wei Wuxian is always a good trope.

6.) Wei Ying being the son of Xie Lian and Hua Cheng is one of the few cross-overs, I liked.

7.) Jiang Siblings Relationship:

I always liked fanfics where Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian's brotherly relationship are repaired or stronger than before and Jiang Yanli is alive.

8.) Divergence Canon:

Ever wonder what would happen if things happened differently or if an mdzs character chose a different option or decision in the novel?

That's what I like about Alternate Universe: Canon Divergence is that it's full of "what ifs".

9.) Alternate Universe:

Out of all the tropes, this is my least favourite and I have mixed feelings when it comes to this one.

Sure, I love Alternate Universes like mdzs happening in an omega-alpha universe, royal universe, or even a universe where mdzs characters can turn into an animal such as rabbits, foxes, or mythical creatures such as Dragons and nine-tail foxes.

But then, there are SOME (to tell you the truth "MOST") alternate universes that I just don't like.

So opinion: It depends on the person.
