"Ouch" you semi-whispered when another sun ray made contact with the skin of your arm and a burning pain, followed by smoke, came from it.

Stupid weather forecasts of humans and stupid sun that kept rising and limiting the space where you could move inside this stupid library for regulars who didn't even have what you were looking for.

A series of passing people sent your way a glare after witnessing the effect that the sun had on you, instantly realizing what you were.

All you did in response was send back a fake smile and continued to move back and forth while you waited for Enid to save your ass.

Again. For the third time.

The doorbell ringed and your ears were able to recognize Enid's voice whispering with another female voice that you didn't expect to be here.

"My heroine" you exclaimed with open arms as you approached Enid the instant she entered the section where you were hiding.

She was mad but too cuddly and friendly to refuse a hug. Repeating your mistakes as if it were your mother would not have solved anything since this is already the third time she has come to your rescue.

"You brought with you something useful?" You asked her with just a tiny hint of fear in your voice when you noticed how fast the sun was approaching, swallowing all the shadows that helped you stay alive.

"I've got only these two. Thornhill would have never allowed me to enter your room and get you some appropriate clothes" she revealed a small, black umbrella that the school offered and a medium-length black sheet.

"Guess it's better than nothing. Why are you here?" You new transferred your attention to the pale girl standing next to Enid while you started to adjust the sheet in a sort of shield for your head.

Wednesday was scrolling through the book of the paranormal section with the same hunger of acknowledgment that you had hours ago.

"I needed an excuse to anticipate the end of dr. Kinbott's session" Wednesday bluntly stated without sparing a single glance at you.

"Glad I could help" you mumbled sarcastically once you adjusted for the last time the sheet on top of your head, earning a giggle from Enid in the process.

This morning the sky was completely gray and cloudy accompanied by a decently high percentage of rain. So it seemed perfect for you to go to the city in the hope of finding better information about your descent.

Wearing thick clothes and sunglasses was just so uncomfortable for your tastes. The sun gave you problems, that was for sure, but preventing the negative effects of the sun was just as annoying.

However, the plan failed miserably considering the ignorance with which human books dealt with topics about the rejected.

The mischievous clouds disappeared within an hour and the sun made its appearance, trapping you in the building and forcing you to watch the sunlight slowly rise and advance towards you.

The sun was strong and even shone from the sidewalk blurring your sight. The umbrella wasn't enough as the sun ray kept burning you every once in a while, slowly draining your energies each time.

Once you reached the opposite path to the bookstore, you heard Enid and Wednesday say a few words that turned out to be incomprehensible. One hand landed on your back while another joined yours who was holding the umbrella, changing the position of the umbrella and reducing the burning pain you were feeling.
