Kili helps you off your horse and you smile down at him. "Thank you." You say. He smiles and takes hold of your hands. He squeezes them and shyly looks up at you. "Would you like to take a walk?" He asks hopefully. You smile and nod. "Yes." You answer. He grins with relief. "Come on, Dunland is beautiful this time of year." He says. "I've never been to Dunland." You state as Kili and you start walking. "You haven't?" He asks, his eyebrows raising, looking at you. You shake your head. "Why not?" He asks. You brush your fingers through your long thick hair, making sure it's covering your Elf ears. "Uh..I live too far north." You state quietly, not even bothering to release information that you live in Rivendell. Kili shrugs. "Well, we're going to enjoy it." He says. You smile and nod. "Okay." You say. You look away, the feeling of guilt pricking at your skin. You met Kili six months ago when you were out riding around the outskirts of Rivendell. He was on his way back home to the Blue Mountains after a long journey to the Misty Mountains. Kili and you both fell deeply in love, and now he's putting off his journey home for a bit. You glance at Kili who looks over the moon happy to have you by his side. You look to the ground, your heart pounding wildly in your chest. You've shared everything with Kili, everything but your heritage, where you're from, and what race you really are. Ever since you met Kili you've become embarrassed of your Elvish heritage, and how it will cost you Kili. Elves and Dwarves don't mix well, so once Kili finds out you're an Elf, your close bond and romantic relationship with him will be over. You sigh, wishing you are a woman, a normal woman without pointed ears and crazy warrior skills. "Are you okay?" Kili asks worriedly. You look at him and give him a small smile. "Yes, yes, of course." You reply quietly. "Why wouldn't I be?" You ask. "I don't know, you just seemed really sad." He says. You shake your head. "No, I'm fine. I'm with you, aren't I?" You ask, smiling. He smiles and squeezes your hand.~
Kili and you walk through the rolling hills of Dunland. You keep angling your face away from the wind, hoping the wind doesn't catch your hair and blow it away from your face and ears. Kili wraps an arm around your waist and stops on top of a hill, looking out at the lands. "Isn't it beautiful?" He whispers. You smile and nod, putting your arm around his shoulders. "Yeah, it truly is something." You say. He looks up at you. "Of course I can't even begin to compare it to you. Looking at you and then looking at out Dunland just makes me all the more grateful that we're in love; and no one can snatch you away from me." He says. You nod, unable to even form words. "Y/N." Kili says softly. You look at him and he reaches up to the curve of your jaw in his hand. "I love you so much." He whispers, pulling your head gently down to his. "I love you too." You whisper against his lips. His lips touch your gently for a moment, and then he pulls you closer, his lips moving fervently over yours. You give in to the passion and let your guard down completely, closing your eyes. His hands to your temples where he sinks his fingers into your thick hair. As he runs his hands through your hair, pulling it away from your ears, his hands brush your ears. He stops moving and stays completely still. He moves his hands back over your ears and touches them gingerly. Your eyes fly open and you pull away, stumbling backwards, breathing heavily. He stares at you in shock, his mouth slipped open, his chest rising and falling. You quickly cover your ears with your hair, your eyes not leaving Kili's. "You're-you're-" He sputters. "An Elf." He states. You look away, tears stinging your eyes..
"I'm so sorry I didn't tell you." You cry, putting your face in your hand. You squeeze your eyes shut and let out a sob. "Please forgive me." You say, your shoulders shaking. "I was so scared to tell you. I know how much Dwarves disdain Elves. I knew that once you found out, you'd probably want to end it because you could never marry an Elf. I love you so much and I don't want you to leave me." You say, crying. You let out another soft sob, your world crashing down on you. Your eyes open and your head snaps up when Kili slips his hand into yours. His eyes are filled with tears and you stare at him. "I love you, Y/N, no matter what race you are." He says, his voice cracking. "And nothing will ever change that. Not my family, not anything." He says, reaching for your other hand. "I want you, Y/N. I want you to be mine. I know that an Elf and Dwarf marriage has never really happened before, but why can't we be the first?" He says, smiling. You smile a watery smile and nod. "Do you forgive me?" You ask. He nods and reaches up to hold your face. "I do." He says, before kissing you deeply.
[THE END] I hope you liked it!
