"No, she's just my good friend, so back off." Hyunjin remarked and I could sense that things wouldn't go better from here.
"Yah, both of you stop it."
I pushed myself in between them and it finally caused them to stay still, as they both looked at me with some unreadable expression.
"Felix isn't messing with me Hyunjin, but he doesn't like me either." I sighed leaving Felix's eyes and I started to drag Hyunjin by the arm to move him away from Felix. "Felix went to my high-school, I'm well aware of his reputation, but thanks for caring about me. He's just being his usual self."
His eyes softened but I watched as his hand rested momentarily on his forehead. I hadn't expected this from Hyunjin at all, he was so suddenly possessive.
"I don't know why I reacted like that, I'm sorry, it's just- you're my close friend now and-." Hyunjin quickly spoke and I shook my hands indicating that it was fine.
"Hae was looking for you, you should go find her." I suggested and he smiled. "I'll be heading home." I continued and I was happy with how it had all diffused but also confused at the same time. I guess Felix's reputation was something that was well known.
"Just promise me that you won't ever like this guy." He whispered and I playfully pushed him in the direction of where I had last saw Hae.
"Yah, I would never like Felix don't worry, I'm more into musical, sweet guys, but not until after college, i've always dreamt of romantically playing the piano together with a future boyfriend." I spoke quietly enough for Felix not to hear but Hyunjin sighed while smiling.
"I hope you find that person one day." Eventually I waved to him and he disappeared from view and I was happy to have Hyunjin as a close friend. He was really genuine, and caring. At first, it seemed as if Hyunjin could like me as more than a friend but now I could see he did it out of protecting me.
Felix hadn't moved much since I'd spoken to Hyunjin but I turned to see him looking out at the busy road past the gates to our college. Just his side profile was enough to make me gulp, it was attractive, I've always acknowledged it. But he didn't suit somebody like me. His soft looking black locks of hair were gently moving with the wind and I couldn't help but briefly ponder if it would feel as soft as it looked. I shouldn't be even thinking of that.
I decided to leave him there with his thoughts, and I headed in the direction of my car, but after only a few moments he had caught up with me and was walking next to me as if I wouldn't notice.
"What's up with you, you're following me like a lost dog. Some days you're mean to me and other days- you're like- this, make up your mind." I angrily shouted and started walking quicker to my car, fumbling for my keys in my black bag. My hand fell across, chargers, airpods, pens, money and clips until it finally felt the metallic hard shape of the keyring with my car key and house key attached.
