Travis' POV
It was lunch time and I hadn't found Mya yet. I looked everywhere in the halls in between classes. I swear this girl is like some kind of ninja. Instead of going to lunch I was walking the halls searching. I had already checked the cafeteria but she wasn't there.
I am beginning to think the universe doesn't want me to find her. Oh well! Fuck it. Since when do I listen to the universe. I'm all about risk. Not fate.
As I was walking down the hall I saw Paris. That bitch. I don't understand why everyone is afraid of her. She's just an insecure brat with money who uses people. Since I couldn't find Mya and I really didn't want to be in school at the moment I decided to leave. I walked past Paris and towards the door that leads to the back of the school and the football feild. From there was a path to the parking lot where I could sneak away and go handle that gang business that I've been putting on hold.
I've been so busy with this school shit that I forgot about the gang. Does that make me a bad leader? As I was contemplating weather I was a bad boss or not I tore my myself from my thoughts long enough to see Mya and some other girl sitting under a tree on the outside of the feild. Nobody would see them from where they were. But i did. I got to give her props though. I would never think to look for someone there. I pulled my phone from the pocket of my leather jacket and looked for the picture Tyler had sent me of her. I looked back and forth from my phone to where she was sitting.
As I was doing so I was debating with myself if i should go talk to her or not. I dont know who that girl is with her so Im not sure if safe to ask with her around. What to do? What to do?......
Mya-Leah's POV
I am currently sitting under the oak tree next to the feild with my best friend Chasity. She was asking me if its against the school dress code to wear ripped tight as pants.
"Honestly, Im not even sure if the school has a dress code." I answered. While drawing in my sketch book.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"I mean I don't think you'll get in trouble. With the way some of the girls here dress you won't get in trouble for ripped leggings." I explained.
She nodded her head saying she understands. All of a sudden she was tapping my arm furiously making me scribble a huge line right across my paper. I groaned and ripped out the page and crumbling it.
"What?!" I asked fustrated.
"That guy over there is staring at you. It's really creepy." She said with a disgusted look on her face.
" What guy?' I aksed confused. Guys never noticed me. He was probably looking at Chasity. She is really pretty. I mean if I was a guy I would stare at her too.
"That guy over there with the leather jacket." She said pointing.
"Don't point. Its impolite!" I told her pushing her hand down.
"Sorry mom. But why is he even looking this way?" she asked. I shrugged my shoulders.
"I'm gonna go ask." she said getting up. I pushed her back down.
"No! Please don't go start a scene Chasity. If we ignore him maybe he'll go away." I said trying to reason with her. But Chasity being Chasity she ignored me, got up and started walking towards him.
Chasity is very outgoing. She doesnt give a shit about what anybody thinks. She's not afraid to say what's her mind and tell people how it is. Me, on the other hand, I'm the complete opposite. Sometimes I wonder how we even became friends. I watched as she was walking. Her black, ripped jeans tight to her skin and her combat boots laced reaching her knees. Her pink highlights shining in the sun against her long, black hair. People call her goth. I say she's different. She's just being herself and doing her own thing.
She walked up to him and sarted talkng. The kid actually looked scared. I was trying not to laugh. After a while of Chasity flaring her arms around and looking like an idiot I saw her point towards me. Then the mysterious guy starting walking to me. I didn't know what to do. I just sat there and pretended to be drawing something. I tried to act like I wasn't paying attention to him but I failed miserably.
"Hi. Are you Mya-Leah?" He asked. His voice did not match his appearance.
I looked up and examined him. He's tall and slim. He has tattoos on his knuckles and hands. I wonder if he has anymore. He was wearing a leather jacket, ripped jeans, a black t-shirt and red vans. He had gauges and a nose piercing. He looked like someone Chasity would date. So why is he taking to me?
"Y-y-yes I am." I stuttered like a dummy.
"I'm Travis. Travis Miller." He said reaching out his hand. I put my hand out to shake his but instead he gripped my hand and pulled me up from sitting position. I was very startled.
"Is there something I can help you with?" I asked confused as to why he was talking to me.
"Yeah. There is. I heard you are really smart. Is that true?"
"I guess? Why?" I questioned. Playing with my hands. I've never talked to a boy before.
"Well, I haven't been going to class for a while and I need to catch up before exams. So I was wondering if you could tutor me so I can pass and graduate." He asked sounding desperate.
"I don't even know you." I said pushing my glasses up from my nose. It was true. I have never seen this guy before today.
"Please? You don't have to know me to tutor me. Please. Please. Please. I really need to pass." He was holding his hands together and looking at me with a puppy-dog face.
I thought about this for a second. First off, I don't even know this guy. Second, I've never tutored someone before and did I mention I don't now him?! I don't know what to do I told him to hold on and I waked over to Chasity to ask her opinion.
"What's going on?" She asked.
"He wants me to tutor him. What should I say?"
"Duh! Say yes. You're really smart. Like Einstein smart. Share some of that knowledge. Plus maybe he'll pay you."
I thought about it some more. "I'm not sure." I told her.
"Ugh!" Before I knew it she was walking over to him. I didn't know what she was doing. A few minutes later she was walking back with a piece of paper in her hand. Then the kid walked back to me.
"Thanks. It means a lot. Bye." He said waving at be.
I waved back awkwardly. I wasn't really sure what just happened.
"Here you go." Chasity said handing me the paper. It had a number on it. "He said to meet him in the library tomorrow after school and that's his number in case you need to reach him."
"You told him I said yes?!" I yelled at her.
"Yeah. I knew you wouldn't." Chasity shrugged. "You need to learn to communicate with others. Not stay in Mya land or wherever you go when you draw."
Sadly, she had a point. There was no use in arguing. She would win. She always wins.
"Live a little." She said nudging me.
"What have you gotten me into?" I asked her shaking my head.
Looks like I'm spending my night preparing for the most awkward situation of my life.
