SCHOOL YEAR 1991

E V E R L E I G H
The sun shines through the window of the Flint girl's room, waking her up from her slumber.

Feeling the sun shining on her face, Everliegh slowly opens her hazel brown eyes and looked around her room.

She sat up with a yawn as she stretched out her arms. A small smile making its way onto her face as she finally gets to go to Hogwarts.

She jumped off her bed and started to get ready, she put on a green sweater with one of the sleeves falling off one of her shoulders, some black ripped jeans and a pair of white shoes. She then brushed her hair and decided to leave it down, She then made her way downstairs to have breakfast.

She walked into the kitchen and grabbed the plate of pancakes her mother put on the table just as she walked in, "thank you mother" she said sending a smile to her mother.

"You're welcome sweetheart," her mother said sending a smile back to her only daughter.

Her mother wasn't tall but she wasn't short either, she had brown hair and the same eyes as Everliegh. People say she looks more like their mother than father and Everliegh couldn't agree more. She looked a little like her father but if she stood next to her mother, they would look like sisters.

Everliegh began to eat as her older brother, Marcus Flint, walked into the kitchen, walking to their mother. She kissed her on the cheek and grabbed his plate of food and walked to the table, sitting down next to his sister.

As he sits he uses his free hand to rub his hand against her hair, messing her hair up as a result, "Marcus! You messed up my hair you git!" Everliegh yelled slapping his hand away from her head.

He just laughs and takes a bite of his pancakes while she is trying to fix her hair with a huff.

"Marcus, leave your sister alone," their mother says in a light tone as she starts cleaning up the kitchen bench.

He puts his hands up in a joking surrender and goes back to eating, "so are you excited for your first day at Hogwarts?" He asked looking back at his sister.

She finishes her bite and looks at her brother with a small smile while nodding her head. "Yeah, I can't wait. I've been waiting for this day since you first told me about Hogwarts." She answers back, her smile getting bigger as she continues talking.

He smiles back at her, glad that she is happy and not scared, "that's great, and we all know what house you're going to get into," he states with a smirk.

"Obviously, Slytherin," she answers and nods in agreement.

"Alright kids, finish up your breakfast we have to go to the train station," their mother states kindly with a smile as she walks up to their chairs and places her hands on both of their shoulders.

They both look at their mother and then each other and smile, well Everliegh smiles, Marcus more smirks then smiles.

Everliegh looked around in amazement as the Flint family walked down the concrete platform to the door of the train, the Flint sibling holding on to their trolleys with their supplies and their pet on it, Marcus' pet being a Hawk owl named Axe and Everliegh' pet being a tabby cat named Cosmo.

They all stopped in front of the train entrance and the siblings turned to face their parents, while Everliegh hugged her mother, Marcus just shook his father's hand and sent him a small, stiff nod and then they swapped. Everliegh shook her father's hand and sent him a nod while Marcus gave their mother a light hug.
