The moment I woke up, I reached for my phone, as I usually do. However, as I unlocked it, I was taken aback to see a notification from Nichole. It was a simple text message, just saying hello, but it made me feel special. I'm not used to receiving texts from her, so it was a pleasant surprise. As I read her message, I couldn't help but smile, feeling grateful for this unexpected moment of connection. Once again, I wake up checking my phone but this time it's a bit different. A hello and a text popped up on my phone. It surprised me since I'm not used to it. Seeing the message is from Nichole, made me smile a bit.

"Hey Brooklyn, I just wanted to check to see if this is you!" Nichole texted me making sure I ain't blow her off.

"Yep. It's me."

"Okay! Oh I wanted to know if you were going to be at work today, I liked that service ;)"

As I read her message on my phone screen, I felt a sudden rush of emotions that caught me off guard. My heart races a little faster, and my palms start to sweat. It's strange how a simple text from someone can affect me in such a profound way. I feel myself get a little flustered at her message yet I didn't think could happen for a text.

"Oh yeah, I will be at work today."

I sent the text message and as I hit the send button, I could feel my excitement growing at the thought of seeing her later. It's funny how technology can make us feel closer, even when we're physically far apart. I can't wait to catch up and see her beautiful smile in person.

As usual, I began preparing to work at the small cafe where I spend most of my days. While walking down the street, I noticed several people who looked familiar, but I had never had a conversation with them beyond a brief greeting.

As I walk to work, I take in the sights and sounds of the city around me. The hustle and bustle of the morning commute is in full swing, as people rush past me on their way to work. I can smell the aroma of freshly brewed coffee coming from the cafes along the street, and it makes me feel more awake and alert.

As I approach the small cafe where I work, I feel a sense of calm wash over me. This place is like a second home to me, and the familiar faces of my coworkers greet me as I walk in the door. I take a deep breath and prepare myself for another day of hard work, but I know it will be worth it in the end.

As I begin my shift, I lose myself in the rhythm of making coffee and serving customers. It's a simple job, but it brings me joy to know that I'm helping to make someone's day a little bit better. As I work, I can't help but think about the message from Nichole earlier, and I feel a flutter of excitement in my chest at the thought of seeing her again.

DING DING

My eyes are drawn towards the entrance, and I catch a glimpse of Nichole gracefully making her way towards me. I can feel my heart beating faster with each step she takes, and a sense of anticipation builds within me. It's as if I have been waiting for her arrival all day, and finally, she is here.

I spot Nichole as she walks towards the counter, and I quickly raise my hand to wave at her. Her outfit today is a noticeable improvement from yesterday's. She's wearing a pair of green cargo pants and a sleek black top that complements her black beanie. Nichole greets me with a warm smile as she orders the same thing she did yesterday. I can tell that she's a creature of habit, but I'll make a mental note to keep track of any changes.

As I juggle multiple tasks at once, I quickly send the order off to my coworker before moving on to the next one. While I'm busy, I catch a glimpse of Nichole grabbing her coffee and taking a seat. I see her wave at me, signaling for me to come over. I make my way to her with a smile, wondering what she might need.

I quickly walk over there and see what she needs, "What is it?" I ask

"I just wanted to know when you get off?"

"Oh! Uh, I get off in 5 minutes so I'll be over here soon."

As I finished talking to Nichole, she slowly nodded her head, her auburn hair swaying in the gentle breeze. The aroma of her freshly brewed cappuccino wafted towards me as she took a sip, closing her eyes in contentment. Finally, the five long minutes passed by and I was able to take my much-needed break. As I walked back towards Nichole, I couldn't help but wonder what was so important that she had waited for me to go on break.
