It's been 2 years since i've seen Steve and it feels like a life time. Im sure he's grown way past my height and his hairs probably his main focus still. He's worse than me when it comes to my looks and hair, he thinks he's grease lightnin or something I guess. I like to always tease him when I tell him that. Only because he seems to never get himself a Sandy.

Im only a few miles away and it's weird coming back to this town, Hawkins. I grew up here before my parents got new jobs and had to move to LA, it still feels homey. And honestly I don't regret choosing to spend my first summer here as an official graduate because quite frankly a lot of crazy shit always happens in Hawkins. It pulls you in no matter how far you are.

I've changed a lot too through out the years though. My hair is jet black, I flip flop between edgy and flower child vibes. You'll never know what kind of version you'll get from me certain days. I like to keep myself grounded and mysterious I guess you could say.

I turned the radio up and listened to music for the rest of the way until I got to Steve's.

~At Steve's~

As I pull up I notice that his house really hasn't ever changed. I can still remember us fighting in the front yard about who gets more time in the kiddie pool when we could have both just fit in it. Me and Steve are both only child's so we had each other, and we're basically best friends till I moved.

I realized it was time to get out so I grabbed my things and shut my car door heading towards the house door.

Steve: Oh my gosh is that Y/N?
Y/N: The one and only baby.

We ran toward each other falling to the ground in a hug and by his sudden grip on me I could tell he really missed me the way I missed him.

We got up after what felt like forever of him bear hugging me.

Y/N: I see the hair is still looking good as ever, looks a lot longer too.
Steve: Yeah i've been growing it out for the ladies.
Y/N: What ladies?

He stared at me for a second before rolling his eyes, everyone knows Steve is a people pleaser and a flirt but can never get the girl as i've said. But that's what i'm here for.

Y/N: Ohhh I see, so THATS why you wanted me to come. To be your "wing woman".
Steve: NO that's not the reason, well not the only reason. Robins been helping me but she's gay so she seems to get the girls before I do. Shocker.
Y/N: I have yet to meet this Robin, the lady killer I presume.

He nods his head at me as I look over his shoulder to see a short haired read head girl smiling walking towards us from the house.

Robin: You must be Y/N, i've been so excited for you to be here he drives me nuts and I don't hangout with anyone else cause ya know the kids are younger than us and I can't hang with them all the time, it feels like i'm talking a lot I'm sorry when I get excited or nervous I talk a lot and-
Y/N: Robin don't worry, i'm happy Im getting to meet you and i've been needing a girlfriend to hang with. Steve knows, i'm antisocial remember?

He nodded his head at me and looked at Robin.

Steve: You'd be surprised she flips between an introvert and extrovert it's like she has certain days or something. I think it's some wicked girl shit you guys have.

Me and Robin both laughed agreeing that, that could possibly be what it is. And Steve being Steve is sitting there believing every word we say.
