Jacks Pov:
It was way past midnight already.
The storm outside had subsided.
I still couldn't fall asleep. With having eaten so much I thought I would be able to sleep soundly. Not to mention how comfortable the bed I lay in is.
As I laid in the bed, my eyes stared towards the moon which I could see peaking through my window.Maybe that is why. Maybe the moon is too bright.
I sigh, lifting myself from the bed.
King Dyrith told me he would eventually reveal to me why I was here... however I haven't gotten any more knowledge on my situation since.
I'll go explore for a little bit then.Just then, I heard the wolf howling again. Could it be it was leading me to the same spot? However... Mr. Avery said it was off limits. I get up and check outside the room, seeing there are no guards stationed nearby at this time.
The wolf howl sounds like wailing, as if it is truly disturbed or something.
I hurried back to the area where the door was and began listening inside of it.Maybe the wolf is outside or something and it just sounds like it is coming from over here?
I leaned my hands and forehead against the door, attempting to get a better listen. Still, it remained silent within. Perhaps this room is some sort of treasure room or something.
All of a sudden, a sound comes from within the locks. Little clicking noises like they are unlocking by themselves. Within an instance, the chains break apart and the door opens up on its own.
Did I do that?Now I am a little nervous.
They're definitely going to kill me for sure.I then realize, a big glowing white wolf standing within the room that just opened up.
The wolf walks forward and approaches me."Thank you for saving me, Jack. I must go. Meet me in the meadow."
The wolf spoke to me telepathically with a deep voice. It was surely the same wolf from my dreams. And with that, I was totally caught off guard."What?—Wait!"
I called out to the wolf, confused more than ever. The white wolf charged towards the nearest window and escaped.
I looked out but I no longer see it in sight. As I glance over to the room it was trapped inside of, I see that it is completely pitch black, not even the little bit of light within the hallway is reflecting into it."Did they... trap him here?"
"Yes."
Someone responded to me, but as I turned around it seemed to be no one was there. Then I began hearing the sound of a group of people walking this direction.
I seem to be at a complete corner with no way of escaping out of sight.
All of a sudden, I feel someone grab my shoulder from behind and pull me into the wall. Wait—the wall?"What the he—"
A hand covers my mouth and they appear to close a painting over the hole in the wall.I attempt to speak in muffles however the person shushes me.
Being still and quiet in the narrow wall, I could overhear the conversation of the people who came to view the broken down door."Where is he?!" The voice of King Dyrith spoke.
"I am not sure sir. Would you like us to set up forces and strike if we see him?"
A soldier responded to the king.King Dyrith let out a long sigh.
"No. I need him alive. He's my son after all. I just can't believe he was able to open this. That guardian was... oh nevermind! SEARCH EVERYWHERE."Son? Is he talking about me?
After the group of people left the nearby area, the person who pulled me into the wall lets go of me and lights a candle.
