In life, there's good people and bad people. Unfortunately, Katerina Smith has been surrounded by the bad people ever since she started elementary school. But in her teen years, it's worse. She likes black and she wants to become an artist when she grows up. But sometimes, she hopes that she might not make it past 20.
Her favorite band is Fall Out Boy and music is her escape. Kat has often attempted suicide but her family and friends have not found out. She oftenly harms herself, mostly everyday. She dreads going to school and doesn't see the point in going if she's just going to be bullied.
Katerina's mother, Beth, is a forensic science worker and helps the FBI. Her father, Mark, is unemployed. Beth often comes home late because of work. She has helped solve many crimes. Kat also has an older brother. Jake is 17 and just finished high school. He loves Katerina with all her heart.
Then there's Tyreese, the dream boy. Pale skin, brown hair, green eyes. What's not to love? He comes into the picture when he stops Kat from hanging herself. After Kat meets him, she thinks that stopping herself from cutting might be possible but she didnt realize how hard it would be.
Louise is Kat's best friend. She has blonde hair, blue eyes and bright red lips. You're probably thinking that she's going to betray Kat because of the way she's pictured. But that is also not the case. Have you ever learned not to judge a book by its cover?
