The Surprise.

Finally after a while I hear footsteps coming down the stairs. Music playing the song I'm doing my solo to. The 2 girls are the first ones I see enter the kitchen. Holding a sign that says "I love you. Will you go out with me? -David" David entered the kitchen after them holding a bouquet of roses. He walks up to me and asks me "so will you Dallas Avery like to go out on a date with me Sunday after your solo competition?" I covered my mouth and slowly nodded my head with tears welling up in my eyes. He smiled and got up and picked me up in a hug and spun me around. He said "you've made me the happiest man ever" and he kissed my cheek.
Later that night we all sat down on the couch and had the girls put in a movie. The princess and the frog. I snuggled into David's side and the girls had their heads in my lap. Man I could get used to this. Growing up my Dad ran out on us when I was born so it was just me and my mom but even she was never home always working. She's the owner of 5 different Dance Academies across America and has to travel a lot to give her presence. Thinking about that put me in a bad mood. Like David could sense it he asks me "hun, what's wrong?" "Nothing just thinking." "Well let's put the girls to bed and we can talk about it." "Okay". We picked up the girls and carried them to bed and then David grabbed my hand and pulled me toward his bedroom. When we got there he shuts his door and gets out 2 pairs on pajama bottoms. As we change I couldn't help but admire his body. Being a cop definitely works for him. As we lay down I wrap my arm around his waist and my head on his shoulder while his arm is around my shoulders petting my hair.

David says "Want to talk about it now?"

I replied "It's just seeing how good of a dad you are just makes me miss my dad even though I never got to meet him before."

"You want me to get some guys at the station to see if we can trace him?"

"You would do that for me?"

"Of course Babe anything for you."

"You know David, I think I'm really starting to fall hard for you."

"Same Babe."

"David? Who's the lady in the pictures in the hallway?"

"She's the twins mom. She passed away giving birth."

"Aw I'm sorry."

"Its okay, now I have you by my side."

I smiled and yawned as I cuddled more into his side for warmth. He kissed my forehead and said good night. And it let me just say it was one of the best night sleeps ever.

When we woke up it was by 4 tiny feet stomping in the room next door. Me and David groaned and rolled over at the same time. We looked at each other and smiled rolling to get out of bed. Apparently my feet didn't really want to work at this moment. As soon as my feet hit the ground my knees gave out and I hit the floor. Hard. I could hear David's bellowing laugh as he walked around to help me up. I just looked at him and pouted. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pecked me lightly on the lips. Leaving me wanting more but he ducked out and walked right out of the room. He's teasing me and I hate being teased I thought as I face planted onto the bed. Anyways my solo is later today and David has to work. I think I should take the twins with me they would LOVE it.

After I came out of the bathroom David and the girls were sitting at the table eating already. David said "Morning babe your food is on the counter." When we were almost done eating I asked the girls "Hey would you girls like to come to my competition today?"
Before they could answer David started asking a million questions a second.

"Who's gonna watch them while your backstage?"

"My sister is coming so calm down and let me explain."

"Fine."
Me and David walked into the bedroom and shut the door.

I said "Okay so my twin sister is coming home for a few days to go and watch the competition and is staying at my apartment so I'll have to be there. She said she'll watch the kids I asked her earlier."

He said "Okay but it's gonna different not having over all the time. You should bring her over when yall get back. And as long as she keeps a close eye on the girls they can go."

"Thanks baby."

"Mhmm you better start getting ready or you'll be late."

Around 12 we were all buckled In the car and ready to go my sister Alex in the front and the girls in the back. Alex and I look nothing alike in my opinion. I have black hair that's close shaved and green eyes and reasonable tan. Alex has dark brown hair that reaches mid-back and hazel eyes and a reasonable tan. After about a hour drive we finally get to the building. They waited next to me while I checked in and got the number I would be going on stage. One of the workers there led me to the room that I would have to practice in. After a while and it got closer to my number I told the girls to go and take a seat. I was waiting backstage and they finally called my name and number and walked on stage and got on my knees in the middle of the floor. I closed my eyes and focused on the music I could see my future I know that sounds weird but I could see the girls and I running around the house and David standing in the kitchen laughing and his smile never wavering. By the time all the images left I had finished my dance and everyone was staring at me in awe and clapping. I got a standing ovation. Me and the girls were eating while Alex was taking a phone call. It got close to awards time and I couldn't find Alex. I looked everywhere but I couldn't find her finally i just decided that the girls will have to sit with me on the stage. When they got to the awards for the best solo in the 16 and up division I saw movement out of the corner of my eye. I looked and there was Alex waving her hands I just looked at her with my disappointed face and shook my head and went back to listening to the announcer. 3rd place goes to Savanah Devas.

OMG I won! I went up to take some pictures and receive my award.
The girls and I posed for some pictures so I could send them to David. After all the craziness the girls were knocked out in my arms. I stared back to the practice room to gather up all my stuff. When I walked in I saw Alex stand up and come over to help but I just ignored her and carried on trying to get my stuff with out dropping the girls. I was so mad at her right now how could she just leave them when she knew that I needed her for this. I just told her "let's go get in the car." She silently got in the car and didn't talk for the whole hour we got to my apartment and I texted David the girls would stay at mine since he's taking the night shift right now. And he didn't hire a nanny. Hopefully this thigh with me and my sister would blow over so I could introduce them. What would I introduce him as we haven't even talked about in yet. Oh God now I'm nervous. Guess we'll find out tomorrow.
