"It's a beautiful day to save lives. Let's have some fun." - Derek Shepherd, Neurosurgeon at Seattle Grace Hospital, Grey's Anatomy.

"You can't be serious?" She stares at him wide eyed. She did expect anything to happen this fast.

"Yes, I am serious. There has been an accident and the family of the victim wants to donate the victims organs, including his heart." His eyes remained locked to hers as he maintains a doctoral smile.

"No buts?"

"No buts. All we need you to do is sign this consent form and we can carry your mother to the OR within the next hour. We don't want the heart to start dying before your mom gets it."

She jumps towards him and hugs him happier than ever."C...can I see my mom?" She let's go as the tears begin to flow.

"Right this way." He walks beside her to the Intensive Care Unit; silence echoing between them. He points to the room that her mother lies in and she walks towards it sliding across the door and entering the room.

"Mom?" She calls to grey-haired woman lying on the bed multiple tubes connecting to her. She takes the hand of her mother in hers and kisses it.

"I was singing at the restaurant tonight like I usually do. I made the crowd smile. I wish you were there to hear me. You always told me use my talents and they would get me far. You were right..." She continues to babble about her day in admiration of her mother.

beep......beep.....beep....beep...beep beep beep beep

"NURSE!?!" she runs to the door and calls out. Five nurses run toward the room including Aaron behind them. He was no longer dressed in his suit but had on navy blue scrubs; a shade compared to his eyes.

"Stay out here." He commands her. The door slides shut and he pulls across the curtain.

GOD NO THIS CANT BE HAPPENING!

Aaron's POV

"CLEAR!" The defibrillator came in contact with Mrs. MeKeehan's chest for the twenty-sixth time, sending a shock to her chest but with no improvement. The monitor was going haywire and he didn't want to lose this patient.

"Aaron? You have to stop. This is useless. She's gonna die anyway." Dr. Joyce Cambridge said placing her hands on his shoulder.

"Push another Epinephrine and charge to 350." He shouts to one of the nurses. She hesitates looking between Aaron and Joyce. "God why do they have nurses?" He crossed the room and pushes the epi central venous catheter.

"If you dear touch that patient with those shocks I will make sure you never see the inside of an OR again!" She threatens, her finger pointing at him from across the room; the room going completely silent.

"From what I remember we are both Attendings, none with more power than the other. So whether or not I choose so let this patient live, there is nothing you can do about it." He looks her dead in the eyes with as much fire and anger as she has. "CLEAR!!!" The shocks come in contact with her chest once more.

"You asshole!!!"

Beep.....Beep.....Beep.....Beep.....Beep.....Beep

"She's back." He sighs as she stabilizes. "I'll go tell her daughter that her mother is okay. Get her prepared for surgery and in the operating room ASAP. " He strides out the room proudly leaving the nurses and Joyce staring at the monitor.
