Kara is sitting at her apartment watching TV with her sister Alex when she sees the new commercial spacecraft, The Venture, lose an engine and start careening back to earth. She looks at her sister who gives her an approving nod as she used her superspeed to change and flew out the window.
She flies up as fast as she can to reach the spaceship and pushes it up toward the sky trying to slow the impact of the spaceship. Suddenly Kara feels a person next to her and looks over to find her cousin, Superman. "Hey Kara, looks like you could use some help," He says smiling at his cousin, "I mean unless you think you got this in the bag."
Kara laughs as she looks at Clark, "Well I am stronger than you so I don't know how much help you'll actually be to me," she says in a teasing tone, "but I suppose if you really want to you can help." Clark feigns a look of hurt before smiling again and flying to the back of The Venture using his freeze breath to put out what little fire remained and with him and Kara the angled the spacecraft to it glided to the ground safely.
Kara and Clark land and look at each other smiling, "good save Kara, you're getting scarily good at this, I might be out of a job soon." Clark says laughing at his cousin. "Well if it makes you feel any better at least you'd still have reporting." Kara says. Clark laughs before starting to walk,"That's fair, speaking of reporting have you thought about what job you'll ask Cat for? I'm sure you could do anything you want, you are Supergirl after all. "
Kara thinks for a moment before shaking her head," I'm gonna be honest I have no idea, Cat wants an answer by the end of tomorrow and I can't even think of what I wanna do. " Kara looks around and notices a dad and his two kids," I usually say hi. " she says. "Me too, " Clark says before walking over with Kara in tow.
After they talk to the family Kara and Clark take off back to the DEO, as they land the room goes silent as everyone stares in disbelief that Superman is in their building. Kara and Clark walk down the steps and Clark greets all the agents he can as he makes his way toward the center of the room.
"Well well well, Superman is in, guess the rest of us could just go home." J'onn says looking unamused at the pair of aliens. "J'onn, I won't be here long, we just wanna find out what happened on the Venture. " Clark says looking around. "What are you not convinced it was sabatoge? do you think someone purposefully tried to crash the ship? " J'onn says looking unconvinced.
"Look J'onn, if it was a mechanical error, it would've happened earlier in the flight and it didn't, it happened right as they hit the atmosphere. " Clark says taking a step towards J'onn."Well all this wouldn't be an issue if you just worked with us Superman, but instead you refuse, you go work alone much like Kara used to." J'onn says.
"You know why I don't work with you J'onn, you keep material around that not only could hurt me but it could hurt Kara, it could kill us. " Clark yells at J'onn."If I didn't keep Kryptonite around we would have been absolutely helpless when it came to Non and Astra, you and Kara are not the only ones out there and I'll be damned if I'm going to allow anyone to hurt Kara or Alex. " J'onn says.
"HEY GUYS I FOUND SOMETHING! " Winn shouts from his lab upstairs. Everyone runs upstairs looking around to find what Winn says he found,"look, when The Venture exploded there was one seat that was empty and you'll never guess who it belonged to, none other thanv" Winn pauses for dramatic effect, "Lena Luthor, Lex Luthor's sister." Clark looked at Kara with worried eyes, "A Luthor in National City? That's never good, they only bring bad with them, we should go check it out. Maybe a mild mannered reporter can make some rounds and figure out what's going on."
Clark and Kara walk into Lena Luthor's office, "Hello Ms.Luthor, surprised to see you here in National City." Clark says coldly. "I know my brother hurt a lot of people, I know I can never change what he did or take back all tha pain he caused, but Mr.Kent I have come here for a fresh start, I came here to escape Lex and build a name for myself outside of my family, surely you can understand that I don't want to be associated with their name forever. " Lena says looking over to Kara.
"I can understand that Ms.Luthor, so if you had nothing to do with the explosion on the Venture why did you not go? Why miss the opportunity of a lifetime? " Kara says looking at Lena. "Well Ms.Danvers, I had an emergency regarding the renaming ceremony tomorrow, I needed to stay and clear that up. " Lena says not showing the slightest sign she is lying. "What renaming ceremony? " Clark asks looking at Lena suspiciously.
"I am renaming Luthor Corp, trying to erase the horridness my brother created with this company, I intend to do good with this company, make it a force for hope not fear. So I am changing the name to L Corp, it keeps a piece of me in it so I don't lose it but it also detached from the Luthor name, something I am aiming to do. " Lena replies sitting at her desk,"surely you can understand that all I want to do is help people, I want to take the same tools my brother used to do harm and to hurt others and use them to do good. I want nothing more than to allow people to see L Corp as a sign of hope and no longer fear."
Kara looks down at her hands,"Yeah, I do get it actually, thank you for all your help Ms.Luthor, we will be in touch. " Kara says walking out with Clark in tow,"There was nothing when I X-rayed the room, did you get anything? " Clark says and Kara looks up at him,"No I didn't, I think she was telling the truth, I don't think she had anything to do with it Clark. I think she is really just trying to do some good. But then why the bomb? It just doesn't make sense."
