Karina and Gemma are fraternal twins and Charlie's nieces. Jacob knew them when they were younger, but the Cullens had no idea Charlie had a twin of his own. Vampires can eat human food as long as they replace the eggs with blood - though no one apart from Karina and Gemma have figured this out. The Levine Coven and Karina and Gemma don't have that limitation anymore, but they still cook their food that way; it just means they can also eat at restaurants or take out.
They are powerful and different - both the twins and Levine Coven. They have "Amber Eyes" as a result of an Animal and Human Blood diet. Only the smallest amount of animal blood is required to keep their eye color intact. As a result, they drink the blood of deer that they buy from a butcher - they purchase both the blood and meat.

Tommy, Howie, and Maddie are not like Renesmee; they grow naturally. For the most part they are completely normal newborns.... except they need blood and exhibit strength a newborn should not have. For now, they breast feed and take in not only breast milk but their mothers' blood (referred to as Plasma) with tiny little retractable fangs. They're vampiric abilities will grow as they grow; but they do have some now. They'll grow until 21 and then be immortal like their family.
