Mystery/Thriller.

I specifically picked this genre so I can read books that would get me to the edge of my seat in anticipation of what'd happen next. If it's a mystery, your book should have enough red-herrings to last a lifetime.

Fantasy.

Your novel should be able to enchant me without overwhelming me. I should be able to relate with your characters without feeling like I'm not in their world. I should feel like I know their world or if I don't, make me willing to want to explore their world with them.

Romance.

Two characters who are head over heels. It may be a sad romance or an happy romance novel. Make us feel the attraction between these characters. This novel is a practical example of show and don't tell and details more on round characters.

Adventure.

Your characters are always journeying towards something. However, they must take us along as they achieve their goal and solve varying conflicts.

Sci-fi.

If it doesn't include a 'mad plot or experiment' or speculation, then it isn't sci-fi. Your story doesn't need to be a hard science fiction, it just needs contents that can be scientifically proven.

Horror.

Novels that gives me the chills without overdoing the gore and blood, you're welcome!

Other Awards.

Best Hook.

It focuses on your first Paragraph, first sentence, and first chapter. Do not disappoint!

Most Realistic.

Most Romance novels are like fantasies, barely in touch with reality.

Disclaimer- I understand that Romances are fiction but that doesn't mean the characters can't experience real struggles.

What is needed under this category is a novel with a realistic conflict.

Most Underrated Book.

A novel with a very unique plot and storyline that fell behind on the ranking due to lack of editing.

Unique Writing style.

This goes to the author with a lot of potentials.

Best Characters.

This is for novels with characters who have flaws and are still likeable. It doesn't have to be extreme like a murderer or a mob boss( Mob boss characters stand a chance if they are well represented with words- authors take note. )

Most Dramatic.

She just can't stop messing every single task up or he just can't help but murder everyone who stands in his way. You got this!

The Critique's Favourite.

A novel I genuinely enjoyed.

Word master.

For an author who:

(i.)creates great imagery with words, without overdoing it.

(ii.)makes us feel the character's emotions without overdoing it.

This category is focused strictly how well the author commands the English language.

Best Humor.

Pretty self explanatory. The one with the most comic relief.

Disclaimer.

I know most of you may not want to participate again but this is a friendly award. It wouldn't be a critique award if it wasn't strict and so detail oriented.
