Hiding herself among the trees in Snowdin, (Name) shivers, FEAR danced down her spine as she listened carefully for any signs of him.
The day had started as any other would. Everything had been so ordinary, but it hadn't stayed that way, obviously. When she had left the castle, bidding goodbye to Asgore, (Name) didn't think that'd be the last time she'd she her father in one piece. The king had patted her on the head and had told her on her way that she had better stop by Gerson's to give him a greeting. It'd been so long since she'd seen him last.
She had done just that, but she couldn't help but notice the throbbing in her temple as she spoke to the aged tortoise monster. He had always been kind towards her, ever since she had first been brought into the king's care.
Ever since Undyne found her near the core in Hotland.
'It's too quiet, my dear,' Gerson had said, tipping his hat at her as she left to go to Snowdin.
She should have listened.
Now, she tried to calm her breathing as she hid herself among the trees, unable to get the image of Papyrus turning to dust out of her head. Papyrus, the sweet skeleton she'd known since her early childhood, was dead. Killed by... No, she couldn't accept that as the truth. He had always been caring towards Papyrus, so why would he...?
The sound of crunching snow shakes her out of her delusions, and (Name) is suddenly faced with the reality of her situation. She supposed that he'd get to her eventually, given that he already knew that she was around. (Name) hadn't expected to see Sans of all people killing the monsters of the Underground, so once she had seen what he'd done to Papyrus, a sound of shock had left her throat, and his attention had been locked on her ever since.
That had been over thirty minutes ago, and she could still remember the look of pure guilt and insanity that had crossed Sans' face as he noticed her. This whole situation was terrifying, it was like a nightmare, and she hoped she could wake up soon.
Fingers gripping into the cloak Asgore had sent her off with, (Name) wonders what would happen to him once Sans killed her. Once he turned her to dust and left her remains out in the woods where no one would be able to find her (there was no one left to find her, anyway).
How would her dear father feel after finding out that she had been killed by Sans the skeleton - someone she considered a dear friend.
Would Sans kill him, too? The thought made tears well up in her eyes. Asgore, King of the Underground, may have not been her actual father, but she loved him dearly and couldn't stand the thought of him being hurt. She had wondered if she offered herself to Sans, then maybe he'd spare her father, but that idea was thrown out almost as soon as it appeared. He'd already killed Papyrus, so she doubted that he'd listen to her about sparing anyone.
"(name), come out," his voice was deep as it rang out. "please..."
Sans' voice used to comfort her, but now it just made her skin crawl. She doesn't move, even as he moves closer. Maybe he didn't know exactly where she was, maybe he was just trying to goad her into coming out so he could impale her just as he did to Papyrus.
Her eyebrows knit together as she hears Sans take in a breath. He stops moving towards her, and he takes his hands out of his pockets. Sans' eyes glow and he summons one of his Gaster Blasters.
This wasn't her first time seeing one of them. She had been there when Sans first summoned one. They had been young children at the time, and the Blaster had been so small, not even the size of a hot dog. Now, he was huge.
"you don't understand..." Sans mutters, his eye lights trembling in his sockets as he glances over at the large Blaster at his side. (Name) could see the accents of dust flaked on his blue hoodie, and she has to hold in a cry as she thinks of who else he must have killed. "i have to do this, (name). if i don't, they'll never stop."
Did he tell that to all of the monsters that he killed, she wondered. Did he try his damnedest to excuse the fact that he was committing a genocide against his own kind?
His baritone voice starts up again and she wished that she could plug her ears up.
"i've watched you die so many times, it'll be better this way..." Sans pauses, hesitation and sadness apparent in his expression. He looked as though he was being tortured. "it'll be better to be killed by me, okay? your hp is naturally low, so it'll be quick, i promise."
He'd never said something like that to her before, even when they may have had arguments. Sans had never mentioned her HP, and that was when she knew for a fact that he was about to kill her.
The Gaster Blaster blazes its eyes, shing a deep blue color as it opens its large maw. There was a slight hesitation, even within the clasps of her panic (Name) had noticed the pause the large beast gave. She wonders if maybe it remembered her from the times she met him outside of her own doom, but she knew little about Blasters and didn't know if they felt emotions as monsters did.
A bright blue beam could be seen from inside of its maw, and (Name) tries to shrink away.
She's stopped when she feels a sudden constriction around her soul. Looking down, she sees that both her soul and her body are wrapped in blue string (?). It was... painful. She could hardly breath due to the pressure being put on her soul, and before Sans could even react, she's pulled backwards into a dark space, and the last thing that she sees is the shocked expression of Sans as the portal closes and she passes out from the pressure being put on her soul.

Undertale in 2023? Absolutely.
I wrote an Undertale fic in 2019 and then I disappeared, so I decided to write another one.
This will mostly be an Error fic because I'll always be an Error girly
Also, the reader is a monster, but she's going to be very humanoid. I'm thinking like Lady Amalthea from the Last Unicorn, minus skin color ofc! Her powers will be revealed later in the book.
Thanks for reading!
