CONTINGENCY

I was sitting in my house watching Local 58, it was a news channel I watched from time to time, it was the end of the broadcasting day, as I was about to turn the TV off there was a message, it seemed to be an official US government, though I couldn't tell, it went by too fast, until it cut to another official looking document, 'Contingency Message Reel' it said, with smaller words after it, I kept watching to see where this was going, it then cut out to a new message, 'Contingency Message Will Now Begin.' followed by 'Please Comply With The Following Instructions, God Bless America.' It said, I started to get creeped out, It cut out again to a distorted like Star Spangled Banner, with an American Flag in the background waving in the wind, there was a rolling message, It stated:

'The worst has come to pass.

Despite the sacrifices of our citizens and the might of our armed forces, the UNITED STATES has been forced to surrender to her enemy.

Though they may occupy our borders, our streets, and our homes.... the enemy will never occupy our SPIRIT.

That is why all Americans are now called upon to ACT .... to preserve the memory of the United States, clear and bright.... untarnished and uncompromised.

Know that I have already TAKEN ACTION in the company of family and loved ones. Now ALL AMERICANS---every man, woman, and child---are called upon to ACT before the moment passes by.

Let our united echo through history: Even in defeat we refuse to yield.

Even in defeat we claim VICTORY.'

That was what the message said, I was horrified, has the US really surrendered? But just as I questioned how to act, another message popped up,

'ACT IMMEDIATELY

Honor liberty by taking the final, and greatest liberty of all.

It is a privilege to be called to action.

YOU TAKE AMERICA WITH YOU.'

The message said, yet I still didn't know how to act, I was crying in fear at that point, even though the background was flowers, I didn't feel safe, especially with the distorted music, then it cut to a city background, with more text,

'WE WILL EACH BE REMEMBERED

Your courage will inspire others.

THERE IS NOTHING TO FEAR'

I was panicking, I was scared, what did it mean most available? Cut back to a flowery background again, with more text, this time with instructions,

'THE TIME HAS COME

access to a loaded firearm is ideal

JOIN YOUR NEIGHBORS, 'YOUR FAIMILY, YOUR GOD'

at this point I was balling my eyes, out, In didn't want to die, not like this, but it didn't stop there,

'AS A CITIZEN YOU MUST ACT NOW

your local law enforcement has been ordered to ensure your compliance

it is against the law to delay

THIS MESSAGE WILL REPEAT UNTIL THERE ARE NONE TO READ IT'

I wanted to hide, I wanted to still live, no, bot at the age of 23, not this young, not like this, then it stated the Victory Position,

'if there is time....
"VICTORY POSITION"

remember the 3 "F"'s

Face Up
Feet Together'

It said, no, no, I wanted to see if there was more, any way besides death, but then I was even more horrified at what was said next,

'REGARDING YOUR CHILDREN:

tend to them before yourself

use a calm tone of voice

EVERYONE CAN DO THEIR PART'

I could only imagine the babies crying as they all died, I cried even harder,

'INFANTS AND PETS
The smallest Patriots'

I didn't want to believe, why? who? what happened? the news would speak of a surrender first then this, for a half a second it showed something,

'THE 51st STATE IS NOT A PLACE'

Well yeah, I get that, there are only 50, I was still crying when it went back to the normal news music, I wiped away my tears when I saw what came next,

'TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES

We apologize for the interruption'

Apologizing for what? what are you sorry for? is what I asked myself, I had already had my gun in hand, but stopped for a second, then another message popped up, it confused me,

'CORRECTION

Earlier today, this station aired what appeared to be a warning message from a U.S government agency.

This has been confirmed as a hoax.

Local 58 apologizes for any confusion that may have resulted.'

What the? probably killed hundreds of people and their saying sorry? well, at least it was a hoax and wasn't real, there was another message, though hard to read, just stated

'Local 58 "HOAX" apology card'

the rest I couldn't tell, half was covered up, though why were there quotation marks at hoax? oh well, I turned off the tv, I couldn't sleep that night or the rest of the week.
