I should be happy. I mean, I still have both arms, unlike Streber. I don't have sexual trauma like Roy. I don't have constant anxiety attacks like Kevin. I'm not in love with my married best friend like Fang.
My life is normal. Seemingly great. I have a decent amount of money, I have friends, I have my siblings, and my platonic boyfriend, Rick. And a job that makes me happy.
But...something felt wrong. Like I was treated differently.
It was almost like I wasn't Radford anymore. I was just Kevin and Streber's wingman, or just someone's chaotic friend. Or brother.
But, whatever. I mean, I cope with it.

"Rad, those shorts are way too small for you." Rick said as I walked out of my room.
"Hoe life or no life, babe." I said smugly.
He sighed. "Radford, it's 11pm. In winter. You'll freeze."
I sighed in defeat. "The one time you're actually reasonable, it's against me." I said, teasingly.
He was right, though. I probably would freeze.
"Just please try not to freeze to death. Your death really wouldn't be a good thing to associate Christmas with."
"Alright, fine." I said, smiling.
I switched my shorts out for black jeans, and walked back out. "Now can we go?" I asked.
Rick softly smiled. "Yeah, sure." He said, in his typical monotone voice.
Rick and I have been in a queerplatonic relationship for about 10 years now.
So, we're not necessarily romantically with each other, we were both just a couple of idiots who happened to be by each other's side every step of the way, trying to survive.
We made our way to the door, stopped by Carrie, Kevin and Streber's daughter.
"Uncle Radford, where are you going?" She asked.
"Carrie, what are you doing awake?" I smiled at the young girl.
"I had a nightmare..." she said.
I looked at Rick. "This'll only take a moment, I promise..." I told him.
I looked back at Carrie. "Do you wanna talk about it?"
She nodded. "You and my dads were sleeping and covered in red goopy stuff and none of you were waking up no matter how hard I tried to wake you up..." A couple tears began pouring down her face.
I was taken aback. "Oh...Carrie, it's okay...I'm here..." I hugged the small girl. "Do you want me to get you anything?" I asked her.
She shook her head. "No, I'm okay."
"Alright, then. Let's get you back to bed."
She softly smiled. "Okay, Uncle Radford..."
We made our way to her room, Carrie following close behind me to make sure I don't "run into the red goop" as she called it.
I tucked her back into bed. "Goodnight, Carrie."
"Goodnight, Uncle Rad!" She smiled.
I closed her door as I left and walked back toward the door.
"Sorry about that.." I said once I was beside Rick.
"You don't have to apologize, Radford. She's a kid, she needs comfort when things like this happen." He said.
I smiled at him as I opened the door. "Come on, let's go!"
