"But Vi, I don't want to," Powder whined at her elder sister.

"I don't know why you still insist on fighting me on this." Vi moved her head slightly to the left to look in her mirror at her sister. "You've been doing this every day for the last 7 years. Stop being a baby about it and get the hell out of my car already."

Powder only grumbled at her sister while slowly making her way out of the car, glaring at her sister the entire time.

On any other occasion, Powder would not have fought her sister so much about heading to school, but today was unlike any other day for her. She had a presentation to present to her Zoology class. Her public speaking was not the most impressive. They always made her a nervous wreck which did not help her whole bullying situation.

Not that her sister knew anything about the bullying; if she did, then Powder knew it would be even more difficult for her at school since no one liked a snitch. Not a single person would willingly want to be remembered as that for the rest of their school days. She would be labeled as the useless brat with the overprotective sister. That did not bode well for her or her reputation as the loner of the school.

She wasn't a loner by choice though.

If anything, she craved contact with others besides her sister.

Ever since she first joined this new school, it seemed as if the kids already had a vendetta against her. It definitely didn't help that she had started the school year mid-way through, which meant that everyone had already formed their groups, and kids are not well known to accept just any new kids in.

Powder had tried though. She tried so hard to get the kids to like her. She had attempted to sit with kids at lunch, but it turned out as well as expected. At first, it seemed like they didn't care enough to push her away, but then once they realized she wasn't planning on quitting, they started telling her off.

That day, a group of eight kids had seated themselves all around the lunch table, shooting off jokes with one another while gorging themselves on the food they had all gotten from the lunch line.

It was all going fine with them until they noticed a presence approaching their table. None of them had expected any teachers or other children like them to approach since it was only halfway through the lunch period. The children decided to glance in that direction, their faces dropping in distaste when they realized who it was that had interrupted them.

Powder stopped from where she was once she realized that all heads had turned to her.

She cleared her throat, offering a small smile their way, "Mind if I sit with you guys again?"

The kids took their eyes off her for a second to glance at one another before staring right back at the young girl.

An awkward silence passed between the group and the outcast girl.

No one in the group of eight seemed to want to respond to their classmates' question, but one of the boys finally chose to speak up.

"Can't you go sit somewhere else? Our table is already kinda full..." the child grumbled, his voice clearly lacking any type of empathy. This only served to further prove how much the kids hated the young girl.
