Chapter 1. Moving

"Ma do we really have to move again? It's like our 7th time" I say
"Yes bells we do and I know your goin to be mad at me but I swear this time we'll stay" my mom says
"Mhm" I say as I look out the window
"I'm serious! I promise" she says
"Okay mom" I say
"Mom?" Matteo says
"Yes baby?" She says
"Are we almost there?" He asks
"Almost...almost" she says

I look out the window and close my eyes and eventually drift off and then get shaken awake

"Hmm?" I say
"Bellsss wake up we're here" my mom says
"Ok ok" I say as I get my bag and start to get out then I hear someone yelling
"MARCUS WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!! SMOKING WEED?! ESPECIALLY AROUND THE COPS AND NEIGHBORS?!" The lady yells
"Geez mom it won't happen again" he says as he starts to walk to his house then we make eye contact he shoots a quick smile and i shoot one back too.

"Bells!!" My mom yells
"Coming!!" I say as I run to her
"Bells your room is the one to the right okay? It's the one that has the bay window" she says with a smile
"Okay" I say as I walk up the stairs and go into the room and put down my bag and look out the window and as I do I see the boy...marcus his windows were open and it looked like he was drawing in on his walls. I looked confused but then he saw I was looking and I immediately got red. I practically ran out of my room.

"Bells everything alright?" My mom asks me
"Yeah...never better" I say with a smile
"So you like the room?" She asks with a smile
"Yeah it's-" the doorbell rings
"Bells could you get that?" She asks
"Sure" I say as i walk to the door and open it
"Hi there I'm Ellen Baker your neighbor! And this is Maxine!-"
"Um you could actually just call me max" the girl says
"Ok" I say
"As I was saying and this is Marcus" she says
"Hey" he says
"Hi" I say
"Well I hope you enjoy it here and here's some cookies!" Ellen says as she hands me a tray of cookies
"Thank you!" I say with a warm smile
"See you at school!" Max says
"Alright bye!" I say as they all start to leave
"Bye" marcus says as he winks at me
"Bye" I say with a smile then close the door

I turn to see my mom in the doorway

"What was that all about?" She says
"What was what all about?" I say
"Bells don't play stupid with me" she says
"I'm not I swear! They just dropped off some cookies as a welcome to the neighborhood!" I say
"Mhm" she says
"I swear!" I say with a smile
"Sureee" she says "well do you want to go out to this cafe called blue farm cafe" she says
"Sure" I say
"MATTEO!!" My mom yells
"Yeah?" He says
"WERE GOING OUT!!" She yells
"Okay!! One minute!!" He says and moments later we hear loud footsteps coming downstairs and then we all get ready and head out to the car and drive to the cafe

As we walk in it smells A LOT like coffee. Then and girl comes up to us.

"Hello im padma I'll be your waitress for today how could I help you three?" She asks
"I'll get some fries with cheese and bacon then with a coke" I say
"I'll get a burger!" Matteo says
"Make that two and with two cokes too!" My mom says
"Ok it'll be ready soon!" She says as she walks off
"Yall likin it here so far?" Mom asks us
"Yeah" Matteo and I say and moments later padma comes with our food
"One burger for the lady along with a coke, one for the gentleman along with a coke then some cheesy fries and a coke for the lady" she says
"Thank you" we all say then eat

We paid then went home by the time we got back it was 8:30pm we were all exhausted, the second we got home we all went to our bedrooms. I closed my door then locked it (I felt safer). I jumped on my bed then closed my eyes moments later I heard a knock at my window.
