"It's Glioblastoma"

Even the name sounds like a disease. It is a disease. Wait what?

"You have multifocal glioblastomas. They're the reason for your blurred vision during the headaches and dizziness"

"We can find out more about it with a biopsy" she continues. "But I will say that the location of your tumor isn't ideal"

"Will I die?" Is the only question I can ask at the moment.

"Yes" oh.

"How long will it take to do the biopsy?"

Rory looks at the scan for a moment,

"For the whole process, about a week...maybe more?" She gives me an estimate and I sigh.

This won't do...I'm busy enough

I accidentally say that out-loud and Rory looks at me in shock.

"But... shouldn't you be putting your health before your work?"

I shrug, leaning back and she looks at me for a moment before a sigh escapes her lips.

"What about getting surgery?" She asks and I raise my brow in question.

"What about it?"

"If you decide to get it, you may be able to live for a year or more but without it, I'd give you four, maybe five, months"

"And are there any downsides to the surgery?" I question, getting tense.

"Well, even if you get the surgery, I can't say that you will be completely fine. During the year, you might suffer from speech disorder, cognitive disorders...or even hemiplegia, which is basically paralysis on only one side of your body" she explains.

It's a lose-lose situation either way. Just great.

"Lets not forget that the biopsy may be risky as well" amazing.

"It doesn't make any sense"

"What doesn't?" She asks, looking at me confused.

"The fact I only have a year or so to live before I die off a disease that even modern medicine has no cure for" I pause for a moment, scrunching up my nose for a second before sitting up straight.

"Do you even know how healthy I am? I jog everyday, go mountain climbing from time to time, I eat well, I sleep well...other than a few headaches, I'm completely fine" I try to reason with her- and convince myself.

"I see" she just lets me talk.

I half-heartedly grin before it vanishes soon after, blinking my watery eyes away.
