Breath quickening, the woman sprinted with all her might as she felt her legs slowly turning jelly. Sure, she worked out in the gym two times a week, but even that didn't seem to help her in this specific situation where she was running from her life.
In her arms she desperately held her book bag, not wanting to accidentally drop it.
She turned a sharp left into an alleyway. Hearing the men still behind her shouting commands at each other, she turned left again only to be faced with an iron fence. The extreme panic that spread through her body was barely noticeable through the high adrenaline she was feeling. Quickly turning her head around she noticed the trash bins and boxes stuffed with fabrics of different kinds, shoved in the corner of the brick wall and iron fence.
Without further hesitation the woman scrabbled towards them and started to climb. The men however got to her too quickly for her to escape.
Just as the woman was about to stand up to start climbing the iron fence a man dressed in black from head to toe grabbed her thigh and stabbed her immediately with a pocket sized knife. The woman screamed from the sudden act and stopped in her tracks to climb. Another man came up and grabbed her by the arm and threw the woman onto the ground harshly.
On the ground the woman started coughing violently, as small drops of blood hit the uneven centament ground. The man who had thrown her went over to her book bag, opened it and skimmed through the files looking for something. Once he was done he tucked the book bag under his arm.
The woman weakly hoisted her upper body to look at the two men who had followed her in the eyes, the other one had walked over to her and was staring her down with piercing eyes. The woman coughed again, as she exclaimed firmly with her hoarse voice "You won't get away with this."
"Mph, get away with what? What can you even do about it, little lady?" The man who had taken her bag taunted, the other closer to her picked up his foot and forced her face back onto the ground with his shoe.
"What should we do with her?" Asked the man as he buried his shoe deeper into the woman's face, making her growl loudly as she stared up at the man with fiery eyes.
"Kill her duh, can't keep her alive now" said the other man as he folded his arms and yawned slightly. "We can just pin it as a work accident if anyone is able to connect us back to it. Just get over it quickly we don't have all day."
"Alright," the other man said as he got the gun out from his belt. He aimed his pistol at the woman on the ground and shot her in her stomach and lungs three times. The woman let out a bloody scream as she began twisting her body, slowly but surely drowning in her own blood.
Getting annoyed at the woman's screams the man bent down and forced the pistol inside the woman's mouth. The woman got pinned on the ground by his knees being over her stomach and arm, she looked up at the man with watering eyes, as she saw an eye like symbol just above the man's left eye.
The man then tired of his shot, and the woman's eyes immediately went to the back of her head as she twitched on the ground for just a few more seconds before becoming completely still. The man who had just killed her got off her and cleaned away her spit from his pistol before putting it back in his belt.
"Nice show Mark. Could do with less screaming in an alleyway though," The man with the bookbag complimented Mark as he let his arms fall to his sides.
"Needed to release some pent up stress, my wife fucking cheated on me but I can't kill her since it'll be painfully obvious I did it..." Mark complained, stretching his neck slightly before letting out a relieved sigh. "Oooh that feels good."
"We gotta get these papers back to the boss before the cops come, don't want them seeing two officers with bloody papers about a demon now do we?" The other man joked slightly, lightly tapping the bookbag in his arms. Mark seemed amused at the other man's words as he let out a low laugh.
"You got that right buddy. Now let's hurry," and with that the two of them left the alleyway, leaving the woman's body bleeding on the ground.
The woman lay there on her back, stone cold dead as her blood continued to pour out of her body.
Unmoving.
"As a corpse should be."
...
The hooded man watching on the roof tops crouched lazily on the edge as he held his camera in his hand. Once he realized the men wouldn't be coming back he sighed and turned off the recording, putting the camera in its case before sitting down comfortably on the edge of the roof. The hooded man sat in silence as he stared down at the dead woman in the alleyway, watching the pool of blood only expand around her.
He felt the wind pick up, as he looked to the site seeing his two proxy brethren on a few rooftops away. The two of them seemed to be bickering with each other, but Toby was able to notice the hooded man had turned to them and waved his arms up in order to get his attention. At that, Hoodie just turned his attention back to the woman in the alleyway. But what he witnessed was not something he was expecting.
Down in the alleyway the winds seemed to have gotten even stronger, so strong that the woman's body was floating, in mid air?
Confusion filled Hoodie's mind as he hoisted himself up on his legs. Hoodie stared down from above into the alleyway with focused eyes as he watched the woman float further and further away from the centament ground. He watched as a pentagram seemed to be shining through the pool of blood she was in just before.
It didn't look like a necessarily good pentagram, it looked like one that had just been carved with a blunt knife into a stone flooring of something of the like, which makes no sense. The triangles were shaped unevenly, and the cuts were clearly done over and over again to make sure they would be visible enough.
As the woman's body had gotten around four feet above the ground Hoodie heard two sets of feet walking towards him on the roof. As the feet seemed to come closer and closer to Hoodie they seemed to slow down, probably seeing the same thing he was.
"Well, t-that's not norm-mal." Toby commented. A smack was heard a second later making Hoodie glance to the side to see Toby holding his head in pain as Masky retreated his hand and went over to Hoodie.
"I swear, why do we have to work with him..." Masky muttered under his breath, his clear irritation towards the other not hidden in the slightest.
Hoodie didn't answer, as he turned his attention back to the woman in the alleyway, and just as he did so the woman's body seemed to snap in half. The woman's mouth seemed to open agape, as the weight of her brain caused her head to follow gravity.
The woman made no sound, which made sense, she was very much dead. However after a few seconds passed a gasp was heard down in the alleyway. The pentagram faded away as the woman fell from the height she was currently up in, landing in her own pool of blood with a splash.
Immediately when the woman hit the ground she seemed to go into action, rolling to her side she hoisted her body up from the ground slightly stopping once she was on her knees and hands. Her head snapped to where she had recently fallen, breathing heavy as she seemed to take the situation in.
Her eyes seemed to scan the area she was in, and once she realized she was alone she crawled to the alleyway wall leaning against it slightly.
Her right hand rested against the wall as her left one seemed to grab ahold of her head, seeming to be in pain.
A quiet "Ouch" could be heard echoing on the alleyway walls, up to the three men staring down at the reanimated woman, down in the alleyway...
