Her delicate touch ran along the battered keys of the piano, a beautiful melody slowly building up from scratch. Her hair flowed down her back in waves, a mixture of light and dark brown, curling at the ends. A little flower was pinned up in the middle of her head, holding little pieces of her hair together, some pieces carelessly falling on cheeks.
Her bright eyes focused on the keys in front of her but it didn't even look like she was trying. She effortlessly played the tune she always did, knowing it by heart from the years of practice and persistence. The sun from the glass window made her hair shine, her white, loose dress seeming brighter – she was a sight to behold.
Too busy in her own little world, little did she know someone was watching her. Her admirer was hidden behind a curtain, not in her line of vision. Although, he could have been standing right in front of her she still wouldn't have noticed, she was too engrossed in her music, always had been the same; she couldn't bear a glance at the world around her, she just didn't have the time.
The boy behind the curtain watched her in awe, his mouth slightly agape at her beauty. There were slight tears that were filling up his eyes slowly. His green eyes shone in the sun with unsaid emotions, more than they ever had – he just wasn't the type of share his feelings or emotions, never had in his existence of twenty-four years. His brown hair were brushed back with fingers, a few pieces stuck to his forehead due to the sweat dripping down but he hadn't noticed. His large hands held onto the curtain for support, the situation overwhelming him.
The boy's best mate patted his shoulder as if to show support but he didn't even notice. His eyes remained on the petite girl playing the piano. He stood rooted in place as if in a trance, watching the beautiful girl he once loved, the girl with whom he cherished so many memories he couldn't even count, the girl who had his heart up to this day, and would hold possession of it for eternity.
Eternity.
It sickened him how easily people thought that a relationship could last for eternity. We're going to be together, forever – they'd say. How very naïve, they were. A relationship was so delicate it could hardly surpass the hardships of life, the everyday obstacles, much less be strong enough to last for eternity, for a lifetime. He was living proof that no matter how many promises you made, relationships could break in the blink of an eye. You just never knew when what you cherished the most, would go –
'Harry, what will happen to us?' Olivia asked as she looked up at her boyfriend with wide eyes.
'What do you mean?' He asked, running his hand through her hair.
'Do you think we'll end up like those couples, the ones that eventually fight so much that they can't bear the sight of each other?' Harry chuckled, the idea seeming ridiculous. But he thought of a reply, just to reassure his beautiful girl.
'Never. We'll last for eternity.' He said simply.
'Promise?'
'Promise.' He said without hesitation, as she snuggled closer to him.
Harry would've done anything for her, anything. He would've died for her but that was once before. He had broken his promise, along with the beautiful angel's heart. He couldn't even begin to fathom the cruel, cruel things he had done to hurt the girl he once – claimed – he loved. He had become a monster – the power, the money, the fame and the attention becoming too much for him to handle.
The one person who had always kept him grounded had been her, and he had pushed her away – far, far away. Her beautiful laugh echoed in his mind and he closed his eyes trying to rid himself of all the memories forcing their way through his subconscious. He felt dizzy, the room around him was spinning because she was everywhere, he could see her smile, hear her voice, feel her warmth, and she was everywhere. A tear rolled down his cheek.
