The sound of water and the sun shining in my eyes wakes me up. I look over to still see Alan sleeping. I want to just get up and leave him behind but I know survival is easier together so I decide to wake him up. "Get up sleeping beauty", I knock at his black boots as he stirs and groans out some 'Fuck you's. "Common we should start heading out", I tell him. "I do not want to go with you, I would much rather prefer to go alone", he protests while getting up, looking down at me with sleepy hazel eyes. "I don't care, survival is easier together. Let's go we cannot be out in the open like this eating fish till we die." I start heading toward the sun to find some kind of shelter. "Hey", Alan calls out, "forgot something?" I turn around just to find the stick flying straight at my face as my instincts bring my arms up to protect my face.
I open my eyes confused why the stick hasn't hitten me yet, that's when utter shock runs through me, the stick is flying in the air right in front of my hands as if someone is holding it up for me. I slowly but carefully pull my hands down focusing on my stick and bringing it down to my open palm. "so.... looks like you have telekinetic abilities princess", I stare up at him. "You have powers?" a grin appears on his face as he brings his hand up making me feel lighter and lighter in a matter of milliseconds. Before I know it I am floating a few inches off the ground as if gravity has decided to shut off. "Gravity manipulation", I say mainly to myself as he lowers me to the ground. His grin is so wide it makes me want to smack that stupid look off of him.
"Alright let's find some things and an area for shelter", at that moment we both gasp as we hear a scream. Running down towards the noise as quickly as we can while the noise gets older and louder. We find a young man on a tree screaming for help as three huge wolf dogs growl hungrily under him. They have massive teeth with drool dripping down. Their backs are scarred with wood chips, scratches and scars. I bring my hand up to their direction as I feel their energy and push my hand so they go flying in the opposite direction. "OMG! Thank god you saved me holy fucking shit they've got the worst red eyes I have ever seen", the guy jumps down and smiles at us. "I'm so glad I am not alone out here, where are we anyway?", he questions looking around. He has short hair, shorter than Alan's long hair and his brown eyes are as dark as chocolate. His features are soft and welcoming just like his eyes. his arms are strong and rather muscular while his body is a little shorter than Alan's.
"Ummm we both don't know where we are, did you just get here?", I ask him as he holds out his arm to me, "Milo. Milo Emrys. And yes I did just get here. Also, how did you do that?", his eyes scan me from head to toe and then does the same for Alan. "Well I have telekinesis and Alan has gravitational manipulation." Milo looks shocked and excited as his eyes light up with emotion. "Wait so if you have powers does that mean I do too?" He immediately tries it out, his hands doing different postures until his palm is straight up and out of nowhere a blue force field is created in front of him. "WOW! That's so cool!" I smile and explain to him what our original plan was, to find shelter and something other than fish.
............................
We've found a little area to stay in that has enough room for us to build a little tent out of wood. I look around in the misty forest for things to use as Milo and Alan find food. While watching every step I hear something rattle behind me. Quickly, I turn around, my hand already on my stick and my body ready to fight. My eyes dart around for the moving creature as I spot something, a brown wall. But it's not just brown, it's rusty and rather looks like it belongs to something. I get closer for a better look as I notice it's a little garden house but extremely old. The little house is kind of big for just a garden house, the wall is mostly rusty as the roof has a bunch of moss on it and the door is slightly broken, leaning on the side.
I move the door to the side so I can go in while I check behind me for making sure I'm still safe. A bunch of papers and three desks with old run-down computers are inside. The light from the windows is enough but there still are lamps that probably do not work anymore. It looks like the place hasn't been in use for at least 20 years. A wall full of open drawers catches my attention as I open them fully. The old drawers are full of paper. The first paper reads:
Dear Changer
If you look up, you'll want to be us
if you look down, you are us
be smart enough to know which one is better
That doesn't make any sense. What's a changer? Who wrote this weird poem and why? Is this some kind of simulation? The second reads:
Change Test #1
TEST HAS BEEN CLOSELY OBSERVED
object is needed soon.
- Under-Changer C.E
My head is starting to spin. What could these people be testing on? Is it us? But this place looks too run down for people to still be working on it I mean the walls are practically falling apart. As my body starts to feel extremely tired for some reason I flip through more papers all saying 'Change Test'. I flip all the way to the last one in the drawer.
Change test #31
SUBJECT NUMBER 5 HAS GONE OUT OF CONTROL
object might lose one's life.
- Under-Changer C.E
I feel sick and confused so confused confused confused confused I need space. I notice all of the papers have an arrow in the upper-right corner. The arrow has a capital 'T' on it while the button of the arrow has a 'C'. The arrow is pointing up and is in dark ink just like everything else. I definitely need to show this to Alan and Milo, so that's exactly what I do.
