A/N: okay this one SHOULD be shorter than the first part lol, but i haven't started writing it. it shouldn't take more than 10 mins to read tbh, okay enjoy lmao <3

ONE MORE WARNING: as this has happened four years ago, some/most of this is embellished for the sake of drama. it's only BASED on MY true events :)

...

School's back in session and anytime Teven and I make eye contact in the halls, he either shifts so we don't have to see each other or he'll move him and his friends away so he wouldn't see me anymore.

do you want the necklace back??

No, that's okay. I got it for you, you keep it.

okay, and Fran should be giving you your sweatshirt back today

Yeah I got it back and a watch was wrapped up inside it?

yeah that's your christmas gift

Oh okay. Thanks

I read the awkward conversation over again. It's what I'd imagine how reading out the divorce papers would be like, seeing who gets what.

I'm standing with a group of classmates that I would consider my friends, but I don't feel like I necessarily belong with them.

The girl who gave me her uncle's company watch, Tori, sees me looking down at my phone with my texts from Teven open, "MJ? You okay?"

"Yeah, just spacing out. I'm okay."

It's weird. Shouldn't I feel heartbroken? I ended my first relationship. Maybe I didn't like him as much as I thought I did.

...

After a few weeks, DeeDee shows me her phone. It's her conversation with Teven. They still talk? "How should I reply?"

I'm taken aback and speak the first thing that comes to mind, "You still talk to Teven?"

"Yeah, we're just friends though. Nothing you need to worry about," she says. Her phone buzzes and she turns her phone back to see what he said.

The spark of jealousy I felt before comes back. Isn't this weird that she's still talking to my ex? I push the thought to the back of my head.

...

As more time passes, DeeDee comes to me looking like her tail is between her legs.

What happened? Is she okay? Did someone from the past come back? She's been going through some things, is she okay? A million thoughts and worries bubble into my chest and I try to remain calm because I try my best to remain level headed for her. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing. Umm, do you want me to drive you home?" Her eyes shift around my face, but she looks like she's messed up and can't figure out what her next move should be.

Now, she's really worrying me. What could've happened that she needs my attention and in the sanctity of her car? I try to press for more while we walk, but she tells me to wait until we get inside her car.

We silently walk. Everyone's boisterous and running around, a contrast from our dynamic. It's eerie.

She unlocks her car and we put our things in order of how we usually set up for a car ride.

The anxiety is starting to rattle my chest, my hands are starting to feel like numb weights. "So, what's wrong?" I ask, trying not to sound like what she'll tell me will either shock me to silence or kickstart my motherly protective persona. I never know what could really come out of her mouth right now.
