Note: Second Chapter already in the making. Please vote and follow for a follow back and give feed back on the story. This is the first book I am writing and trying to stick with so please bare with me here. The girl above is Lily Collins. This is who I picture Parker as :P Enjoy!

"Parker Marie Calloway!" my mother yells from downstairs.

Jeez, what is her problem. I groan and take one last look at my room. I sigh and think of the memories here, like when my friend Ashley and I captured a frog. For some dumb reason we decided to put it in a box and paint the box with fingernail polish. The frog died from the fumes of the nail polish. I know, we are terrible kids. It's weird how empty my room looks. All that's left is an old dusty wooden dresser and my old bed. My bags are stuffed full of clothes and books and are by my sides.

"Parker," my mom's makes her presence known.

She leans on my shoulder and I see her eyes get glossy. She sniffles and I try to hold back a laugh. I hate seeing her cry, but over something so simple, well maybe not that simple.

"I can't believe my baby's moving out and going to college," she sighs and sniffles again, "if only your father were here to see you graduate."

My father passed away when I was really little. I feel terrible for my mother and a lump forms in my throat. I haven't fully processed that I am about to start a new life at college, not knowing anybody. I hug my mom and shut my light off. We walk down the stairs, each of us carrying my bags. Once we get in the car and are on our way a knot forms in my stomach from nervousness. What if the people there are rude? What if I mess up my classes? The drive from my dorm to my mothers house is two hours away, how will I make it without a car? My mothers voice snaps me out of my daze.

"Parker, we're here," she says.

We get everything unpacked and up the stairs. I pass a group of girls with high skirts, lots of makeup, and basically no shirt. Yeah this is going to be fun, I sarcastically think. They look at me with the dirtiest look I think I could every receive and walk off. Well this is going well so far. My dorm is small. When I walk in there are two beds on the opposite side of each wall. There are two small dressers by the bed and a closet. On the left side of the room, which is obviously occupied, by it's posters and clothes everywhere. My mother cringes. We end up putting everything away. I make a small space for my stuff in the closet. Jesus Christ how many clothes does this girl need. All of her clothes seem to be black or red or laced. I tidy up my side of the room after my mom leaves. I sigh and decide to take a shower. Crap, I think the showers are a couple of halls down. I grab my shower kit and sweatpants and a sweatshirt. I debate whether to take my phone or not and decide against it. I walk quickly down the hall and finally find the showers. There is no one in here which makes my day better. I quickly shower and get dressed. My long caramel hair is hanging past my shoulders dripping from the shower water. The minimal makeup I wear makes itself known as I see black streaks under my eyes. I do my best to wipe them off. My hoodie is gray and so are my pants. My feet pad on the floor as I make my way to the dorm. When I get back my roommate is still gone which I am slightly thankful for. I get on a reading sight, called Wattpad and decide to read and publish part of a series I'm writing. Its about wizards and stuff. My eyes flutter close and soon I am fast asleep.

Dang, she still isn't here yet. I yawn and stretch before putting on black skinny jeans, a white tank top, and a cardigan, with my black vans. I pull my hair in a ponytail and dab some mascara on my eyelashes. I go to the bathrooms and brush my teeth and come back quickly. I decide to look around the campus. I grab my phone. I have an unread message:

Ashley: Hey bitch how's your dorm???

Me: Don't be rude asshole ;) and it's good besides this girl takes the whole fucking room up

Ashley: XD omg i will talk to you later bye

I respond and tell her bye. I decide to check out the library. There's almost nobody in here besides a few select people. I look around and pick a random book to read and pass time. I sit down at a lonely table in the corner. Time goes by slowly. I am almost finished with the book when someone knocks on the table. I look up from my book and see a dirty blonde haired guy with black glasses. He smiles a handsome smile at me.

"You're in my seat," he says.

I

look at him with a confused expression on my face. In his spot? What the hell?

"I-I'm sorry-" I say.

He laughs, "Nah, I'm totally kidding, well kinda that is my seat but I don't mind company."

He pulls a chair out and sits down across from me.

"Yeah, It's quiet and secluded over here. I'm not very social," I say with a laugh.

"Ha, don't worry I'm the same way," he leans in towards me, "that's why I picked over here," he whispers and points to a sweaty guy picking his nose from a far at a table. I laugh louder then intended and he laughs with me.

"I didn't get your name," he says to me.

"Oh I'm Parker," I respond.

He holds out his hand and I shake it. "Well hello, Parker, nice to meet you. I'm Simon," he says.

"I think I can get to liking you, Simon," I say as we both glance at the guy eating his snot and we both burst into laughter.

Maybe this place isn't as bad as I thought, maybe.
