Richtofen had successfully put together the Thundergun portion of the weapon in under three hours, and had started working on turning the Raygun's bullets into shotgun shells. Dempsey had stayed in the room, once again with his textbook, but instead of keeping to himself, he had asked the doctor for a bit of help, as it wasn't identifying German words on paper that he struggled with (though his lack of proper capitals bugged Richtofen a little); what he really struggled with was hearing and actually speaking the language.
"Ich...hab...ein-"
"Hab e ." Richtofen corrected, not looking up from his work.
"Uh, habe...einen Hund..."
The doctor sighed, "You're still bad with 'e'," He pointed out. His spine hurt after being in the same position for so long, and hunching over a bench for hours at a time wasn't exactly what a chiropractor would recommend.
He heard a laugh next to him, "Fick dich," Dempsey laughed, using Richtofen's own native tongue against him. Pouting, the doctor huffed.
"Why're you doing this again?" He asked irritably, finally looking up and looking at the Marine sitting next to him. Dempsey looked down in thought; his brows knitting over his eyes as they focused on the bench.
"All of you guys know different languages. I don't." He pointed out, "and I ended up finding this book, and German is the closest to English, so I figured I'd settle with that."
Richtofen hummed, "Is that the only reason?" He riddled, prying for something he wasn't sure even existed. Dempsey sighed.
"I...also figured you could help me out a bit..." He admitted, "Japanese is really fuckin' hard and I highly doubt Nik's a good teacher when he's drunk all the damn time, so I settled with German."
The doctor set his tools down and used his now-free hand to gently grace the Marine's cheek, "Du bist sehr süß~" He cooed, before pulling away from him, smiling teasingly. As expected, Dempsey seemed a little lost.
"I'm very what?"
Richtofen hummed, "Spell it."
The Marine did just that, writing the first three words down, before looking up, "How do you spell the last one?"
The doctor grinned, "S, dotted U, Sharp S."
The sound of pencil on paper was distracting, but thankfully only lasted briefly, "Uh...now what?"
As Richtofen modeled the inside of one of the bullets, some of the acid seeped through, burning a hole through his glove and searing his skin, making him yelp, "Ow, du schweinehund !!" He exclaimed, waving his hand to hopefully cool the new chemical burn he had.
"You okay?" Dempsey asked, "that sounded like it hurt."
Richtofen held his hand which, thankfully, only got burned on the topside, so he could still use it without a lot of pain, "I'm Wunderbar... " He grumbled, "Just...find the word in the book."
The Marine did so, not really fighting him on it. As he did, the doctor pulled off his gloves, not wanting to damage them anymore than he had. In irritation, he picked up the bullet, and flicked it across the room, making it shatter and leak acidic plasma on the wall. It wouldn't shoot out like that, but Richtofen's hand wasn't exactly a gun.
"Du bist sehr...I'm not cute," Dempsey finally said, crossing his arms, "Du bist sehr nervig ."
The doctor only smiled teasingly, "I'm just playing, Dempshey. I'm starting to get the strange suspicion that you don't like having fun."
