I was dancing to the music with my drink in hand. Vessie had some friends come and I don't mind. I just really want to get my mind off some things.
"Yeah, girl!" Vessie cheered as he saw me sway my hips when the music changed and we laughed. We then took another shot of our patron drink. I picked up some orange and dipped in into some brown sugar before sucking on it.
Hmmm, yum!
"Vivo, you just got married right? Like today?" One of Vessie's invited friend asked almost yelling because of the music. I wanted to roll my eyes because I don't want to remember that thing. I just nodded my head faking a smile.
"Then why are you here? And where's your husband-"
"Right here." I heard Evo's hoarse voice as I felt his breathe on my neck while he wrapped one arm around my waist.
"Oh, Evo! Hello!" Vessie greeted him awkwardly while eyeing me and of course I have no choice but to seem happy.
He still found me, huh. I can't believe he's my husband.
I wish we started things differently. It wouldn't be this painful.
"Here he is. My husband." I said out loud as I turned to Evo laughing and he welcomed me with cold eyes. I leveled his stare despite being guilty for leaving him behind.
"She wanted to party before we leave for our honeymoon." Evo reasoned out with his arm still around me and I just smiled while nodding my head.
Okay, this is awkward.
"You left me..." He whispered and his voice waved of sadness. I felt bad even more and I don't know how to react to him.
"I know it's not a big deal to you and it's fine because I found you. But it hurt. The thought of you leaving me hurt." He added and I shivered. I froze and he pulled me closer towards him as he kissed the side of my face.
"Stop it, Evo." I whispered back trying to pull away smoothly with a forced smile on my face. My heart thundered in my chest.
"Let's go home." He replied not letting me go and I think that's a good idea because I don't want to keep on pretending.
"Wait here." He added then he let me go and went somewhere. I sighed in relief while Vessie laughed at me and made her way towards me. Everyone else were busy partying, some went to the dance floor already.
"Girl... I thought you were going to shit on your pants. You're as red as a tomato right now. Wag mo naman ipahalata na masyado kang in love." She said teasingly which made my face crumble in annoyance.
"Shut up! We're leaving." I replied as I glared at her and she just laughed at me. He suddenly stopped laughing and I again felt Evo's arms around me.
"I paid for it already. We'll go ahead, Vessie. Thanks for coming to our wedding. Have a great night." Evo said and I kissed Vessie goodbye.
Malapit lang ang club na pinuntahan namin ni Vessie sa hotel namin. I just took the cab when I came here because I didn't bring my car with me. Awkward silence filled us up the moment we got out of the club. I didn't say a word and the cold midnight breeze embraced me but it was only for a second because I felt Evo's warm embraced as he caressed my shoulders hugging me sideways. His action was so sudden and I wasn't expecting it so I wasn't able to avoid it.
"I'd let you wait here till I get our car but it's cold. So, let's walk together to the car." He said not letting me go and I wanted to cry because the warmth in his voice and just him. Everything about him is comforting me in ways no one else could. He felt like home and it feels so good that it hurts.
