It was a cold, snowy day when I decided to take Megan on a trip. We both
put on about a thousand of layers of clothes, our snow boots, hats, and mittens
and practically ran out of our chalet. The smell of fresh snow hit us immediately
when we stepped out into the winter wonderland. Megan offered me her hand
and I happily took it. We walked and walked, talking, and laughing, enjoying
ourselves.
Then suddenly, I heard a loud noise. Megan turned her head around, right
as the ice underneath us cracked. I did the first thing that came to my mind. I
jumped over the hole in the ice, pinning both me and Megan onto the ground
behind her. I stood up as fast as I could and helped Megan up as well. You could
practically hear our heartbeats. We both turned around, only to see the ice
completely broken, where we stood just a while ago.
About an hour later, we got back home, both freezing thanks to the cold
outside and still a little shaky from what happened. I made us both a hot cup of
tea and we put on a Christmas film, to brighten up the atmosphere. I took a seat
on the couch, next to Megan, and we continued to watch films, sipping on tea, and
slowly falling asleep.
In the end, everything was fine, however we will most definitely be more
cautious next time we go on a trip.
