It was a calm, quiet night at 3am on the Seven Miles beach, on the Grand Cayman island, no cloud in the sky nor wind in the air, the ocean was dark but shinny as the moon shone bright . It has always been a peaceful place to be when you want to relax and enjoy the view until this very night where the impossible happened. Things were about to turn into a nightmare and no one knew how to deal with it.
The beach was like a ghost town with no one in sight, it was so quiet that you could hear nothing but the sound of the waves crashing together until before out of know where a bunch of grad students came running down the hill towards the sea with all screams of joy and laughter having fun. Taylor-19 and her girlfriends Phoebe-21, Sasha-19 and Cara-20 were on holiday celebrating graduating from the City College of New York. This was supposed to be a celebratory treat from Taylors parents but they didn't expect it to be their last nights on earth.Taylor was the first to enter the water as she shouted to her friends. "Come on guys, what are you waiting for" laughing away the coldness of the water, followed by Cara then Phoebe and Sasha as they held hands predicting how cold it might be. "Its freezing." Sasha cried as she pushed Taylor further into the sea for not warning them. As they go further into the deep, they couldn't feel the bottom. Unfortunately what they didn't know is that they had gone so far that they were now drifting past a couple of sand banks. As they were playing around as much as they could Sasha spotted something from the distance. What was that, it must a dolphin or hundreds of fish swimming, she thought. they couldn't really see much as it was too dark to see their surroundings so she just shrugged it off so she didn't alarm the others, until an hour later she saw something again this time it was close enough that she could see a fin but yet too far that she couldn't establish what type of fin it was or determine whether she should be alarmed. As she started to get nervous of the unknown she decided to alert the others, "umm I don't know if it's anything to worry about but just in case I really think it's time we should get back now." Sasha suggested trying to hide the terror in her voice. "WHAT are you talking about" Taylor questioned with frustration in her voice. "And what do you mean go back to the beach and don't worry, WORRY about what, there is nothing to worry about, we are safe?" she screamed. " I think I just saw a" then she paused in fear. "A WHATTT!!!!" Taylor shouted. "A sh sh sh SHARK" she cried shaking uncontrollably. "There is no sharks on the Seven mile beach, there has never in history been a shark attack here, its just unheard of.
Sasha just couldn't calm down, the more she was in the water the more she started panicking, until she just couldn't take no more. "Right, that it I'm out of here" she cried. As the others tried to calm her she just began splashing around and causing so much destress in the water. She wasn't having any of it and started to attempt to swim back, but as the others turned away from her to swim further out they heard a sudden seconds scream, and as they turned around Sasha was no where to be seen. "Sasha" they screamed, "stop messing around, they are no sharks in this water" Taylor screamed. but she still was a no show, the others laughed thinking it was a prank, but as second turned into minutes with still nothing Phoebe and Cara started to panic, Taylor was getting so irritated she shouted " for f### sake there are." And before she got a chance to finish her sentenced a huge 20ft great white shark breached out of the water landing Taylor right in to it's razor sharp jaws, dragging her under, never to be seen again, and all of the sudden as the moon lit up the sea more it became apparent that the sea was filling with what obviously was blood.
Phoebe and Cara was frozen in complete terror but phoebe managed to pluck up the courage to try and make a swim back to the shore dragging Cara with her, they fought hard to get back as the tide was starting to get stronger and waves began to work against them and the more they swam the further the shore seemed to be. As Cara was still frozen in fear it was hard for phoebe to get them back to safety and before they knew it Cara was gone. This gave phoebe more courage to try harder to save herself and as she got closer and closer to the shore the shark breached out of the water but missed her by inches, then as it made one last attempt to savage its prey it grabbed her by the left leg, tugging hard.
Phoebe fought and fought trying to escape, and then it disappeared but just as she thought she could get away, it came out again from nowhere and bit so hard on her side she let out a howling cry. It just tugged harder and harder shaking its head rigorously until she was gone into the cold, dark sea forever. Seconds later everything was quiet again as if nothing had happened, with people in the area going on about their nights with no care in the world not knowing that there was ever anything wrong.
