THE TURTLE KING AND THE FIERY FOX

In a faraway land, in a different era...ruled Nino, the scion of the Lahiffe Family. Upon his 18th birthday, it was decreed that he become 'The Turtle King'. And his kingdom enjoyed a grand and prosperous reign. And due to his defensive prowess both as the King and a military ruler, no one could topple his kingdom. And when it was time to go on offense, his armored corps could wipe out any opposing forces.

But three years have passed between his ascension and where this story begins...and it begins in the Turtle King's War Room. He looked over his army's movements...and then, he heard a voice called out, "King Nino!!!"

He exhaled, and said, "This had better be important..."

He made his way to the throne room-where several of his soldiers were gathered. And in front of them, was a young woman about Nino's age. She had bronzed skin, brown eyes...and the most magnificent mane of red hair Nino had ever seen. And while his kingdom had its fair share of beautiful women-many of which vied for the opportunity to throw themselves at his feet-he found himself enthralled by her.

But Nino knew how to remained composed. He said, "Men, who is this?"

The woman spoke, saying, "I do not need a man to speak for me! I am Alya, the Fiery Fox!"

"My liege, she is the rebel leader who has been gathering forces against you!" one of his generals said.

Nino approached Alya and gently took hold of her chin to look into her eyes. "Is this the truth?" Nino asked.

"King Nino...there is the absolute veracity behind this claim." Alya stated.

"The laws state very clear that an act of rebellion against the king is punishable by death!" another general said.

"Hmm...that may be...but I wish to spare this one's life. She may be able to provide me valuable information." Nino replied.

The other generals whispered among themselves. After some time, the leader of the generals said, "As you are the king, that is your decision..." The soldiers then turned and left Nino and Alya in the throne room.

"Wait...are you not going to unbind me?" Alya said.

The leader of the generals picked her up and said, "You are the king's prisoner. As it stands, you should be grateful he's let you live." The general drew his sword, and cut the ropes binding Alya's hands behind her back.

The leader then left-and now Nino and Alya were alone.

"I suppose I should be grateful...though I'm not sure why..." Alya said.

Nino took a moment to look her over, now that it was just the two of them. She was wearing a brown cowl and cape, but the hood was down. She was wearing an orange top and leggings, with a brown leather bustier. His eyes ran over her body...he noted that despite her outfit, she was curvaceous...

"Please forgive my men's senses of duty and hospitality..." Nino said.

"I am within your kingdom...and at your mercy..." Alya replied.

Nino then said, "Any you wouldn't try to kill me? Send the realm into chaos?"

"Despite what you may think of me, I believe you are a most capable ruler. There would be nothing to gain from your death...and if I take your life...what happens to me? How far do you think I will get?" Alya replied.

Nino was silent. This rebel had salient points. "First, you will clean yourself. Then, I will have someone procure a fine garment for you. You will join me for a meal, then you will inform me what your 'rebellion' has been up to." Nino said.
