Too Late

Arthit slowly turned his phone between his hands as he thought over the message he might send to a certain second year. After all the time they'd spent apart, he knew the whole fight and separation was really his fault. He couldn't blame Kong for ending things like that.

Arthit sucked in a deep breath, blowing it back out, then clicked on his conversation thread with Kong.

Arthit: Kong, it's Arthit. Can we meet up and talk?

Arthit: I understand if you're still angry with me, but I need to tell you some things in person. Telling you via message isn't respectful to you.

Arthit: Or me. But mostly you.

Arthit placed his phone to the side, figuring Kong wouldn't get back to him right away. He sighed heavily and stared out into the night. The rain had eased up a couple days ago, so at least he didn't have to put up with listening to loud crashes of thunder.

Homework didn't take long. Part of it was applying to the different corporations for his internship. Ocean Electric looked really interesting...but Arthit was also drawn to Kong's family's company. Arthit applied to both, figuring at least one would ask him to intern there.

After overthinking his already sent aplications - for about the twentieth time - Arthit went down to the usual stall for dinner. He ate quickly but took his time drinking the pink milk. He sipped slowly at it while messaging the group chat with his friends.

Arthit: What accident are you talking about? Are you okay??

Bright: Dude, how could you not know?? It was only two lights away from campus!

Bright: And yes, we're okay. Traffic is jammed while they clean it up the rest of the way. It happened maybe...five minutes ago?? Not too sure. We didn't see anything.

Prem: Pieces of stuff all over the road, though. Whoever it was must be seriously messed up.

Tutah: There is no way the biker survived this. I just saw the bike being carted away.

Prem: Where the fuck are you??

Tutah: Bridge. They passed by me. Damn...that bike is mangled. Can barely tell it was a bike.

Arthit: hope it wasn't anybody we know.

Bright: Well, I can tell you it most certainly is not Kong. We all know he's at home this weekend.

Arthit: ...

Knot: Wtf, why did you bring him up, you idiot

Bright: We were all thinking it. I just addressed the elephant in the room.

Arthit: Thanks for that tidbit, Bright. *rolls eyes*

Tutah: Uh, guys?

Prem: What?

Tutah: Doesn't Kong drive a XXX bike?

Arthit: Yes. What about it.

Tutah: How many of those bikes were made??

Knot: I don't know, about a hundred? They were special.

Bright: Get to the point, Tutah
