Stories from last summer I found in my notes

No. 4: Luna and Solis being space cuties (August 8th, 2022) Fluff, angst(?)✔️

(I really like this one. And fun fact, when I was taking this from my 'write and delete' note to my 'keep' note I lost it, but my tablet didn't update so I saved to my drive and then transferred it after almost exploding from sadness because I was so happy with it. I also originally had Solis's name as Solus since I guessed what the Latin word for sun was, or got it from another language idk, but I might have missed a word)

(space objects can talk to other space objects smaller than them and small space objects need to have a diameter that isn't 10+ times smaller than whoever they're talking to)

I watched as the sun laid her rays down on the earth, I danced around it using her light to show me. I always apologize to her for not having a light, but I am a mere moon without a shining core of my own.

I watched as humans had their skin burned and plants wilting from them, I knew I shouldn't but I wish I could go up to her. She's a giant compared to me and I am nothing but a leech for her light. Once every 30 rounds I am shone in my full presence to the world but fear I am invisible to her.

I watch as I inch closer to her and the humans panic. It doesn't matter much, I'm almost no use now. I used to be a way to know the years of the marching of time but now, I'm just in the sky reaping the sun's light.

I watched as she looked at me and told me to leave, I need to be the moon for Earth.

I walked closer, she scooped me up "You aren't leaving are you?" she said.

I shook my head. I don't have a light so I don't have a voice. The other planets don't need them but I do right now. I hear a ship coming where I stood, poorly doing my dance. I let it stay doing that, it'll stop one day but till then I'm with the sun.

I watched as she placed me on her shoulder "The humans, they are trying to harness my rays for electrical purposes when I'm right here! Sharp as a marble those ones..." she said stroking Mercury.

I went to their place and had her finger touch my hair. She lifted me to her hand and pet me. I leaned into her touch as I sat down, her hand is a mansion to me.

"Moon, would you like a name that isn't your kind?" Sun asked, "I've called myself Solis, it means sun in a human language, I believe your Luna."

Luna, I like it, I nodded "Hello, Luna." She said sweetly.

I hugged Solis and she lifted me up. I gripped on scared, what would happen if I fell? I felt her hand underneath my feet.

"Go to sleep, you haven't in eons," She ordered.

Sleep, I'm always associated with it yet I don't know what it's like. I must be awake for the night, and it's always night somewhere.

I thought for a moment, most humans lay down and then close their eyes. The sun pushed me down gently.

"Lay down, and close your eyes, I'll make sure you sleep well," Solis said, I got myself comfortable, "Take your shoes off, you'll get sore feet if not."

I took my shoes off and placed them by my side, then closed my eyes.

I woke up and felt refreshed, I don't know how long I've been asleep, but I'm on Mars.

Mars stopped their winds "Rise and shine sleepy head~ Solis! Solis! Lunas up!" they said waving their arms and handing me to Solis.

"He is, hello, you've missed some things the humans have done over the past century, would you like me to catch you up or not?" I put my shoes on and nodded at her.
