𝑾𝑨𝑹𝑵𝑰𝑵𝑮𝑺: bullying, mentions of abandonment issues, slight mutual jealousy
𝑺𝑼𝑴𝑴𝑨𝑹𝒀: Xiao is a popular streamer online. Recently, he announced his relationship with Luma. Unfortunately, jealous fans began to send backlash to Luma. They tried hiding their pain but eventually their boyfriend found out and will do everything in his power to make them feel better.
Xiao was a popular streamer and he gained many fans over time — many of which were attracted to him. It took some time until he revealed he had a partner. There were mixed reviews when it came to the situation. The respectful fans were happy for him while others would comment things like "it's me guys" or "i'm his gf y'all". Because of the comments, it took the couple some time before they were ready to share who Xiao's special person was.
As much as they didn't like to admit it, Luma was a sensitive person. They knew when they announced themselves as Xiao's partner they would receive some backlash — that's just how the internet works. Because they were the child of a famous supermodel, they expected their looks to be a main insult towards them.
Even with preparing for the backlash, they still weren't fully prepared for the impact it would have on their mental health and self esteem. The bullying and insults dug deep into Luma and brought up old, unwanted memories. They let their curiosity get the better of them and continued looking through the harsh comments along with viewing their profiles and comparing themselves to the seemingly prettier girls.
The backlash led up to this point, curled up in bed crying their eyes out as their tear-filled eyes were glued to their phone and continuing to read the harsh comments. Meanwhile, their boyfriend was streaming in his room. They hoped the sounds from his games and talking would drown out their small sobs. But, some things just didn't work out for them.
"I'll be right back, guys," Xiao told his stream, pausing his game and turning off his camera briefly. He left his streaming room and headed down the hallway to their shared room. Hearing his footsteps, Luma quickly wiped their eyes and closed the app.
"Hey, aren't you streaming?" They asked, forcing a smile. "I am, but I wanted to make sure you were okay. Is something wrong?" He took a seat beside them on the bed. "Yeah, I'm fine! Nothing's wrong," they replied. He could tell by the look in their eyes something was wrong. Not to mention, Luma tugged at the ends of their hair when they lied.
"You sure?" He asked softly, holding their hand. "Mhm," they nodded, "Go back to streaming. I don't wanna bother you." Luma's energy and tone were off and they weren't usually like this. Plus, what were they thinking? They could never bother Xiao. He might say that when they're being clingy but he thought they knew they never meant it.
