3rd Person POV
Heaven Valentino moved with the precision of someone who had mastered control—of her body, her mind, and her surroundings. The acrid scent of gunpowder lingered in the air as she fired her last shot, the bullet ripping clean through the bullseye. Perfect. Just as expected.
Satisfied, she holstered her weapon and exited the private shooting range, her steps steady and unhurried. Every action, every decision she made was deliberate. And today was no different.
As she made her way down the corridor, a familiar voice called out behind her.
"Ms. Valentino?"
She didn't stop immediately, letting the sound settle before turning with practiced ease. Park Hyung-jae, her secretary and most trusted aide, was striding toward her, his usual composure laced with an urgency he rarely displayed.
"Yes, Jae?" she asked smoothly, as if she already knew the answer.
Jae barely paused before delivering the news. "Someone is requesting your presence." His words were formal, but there was a flicker of something else beneath them—curiosity, perhaps.
Heaven's expression remained unreadable, but there was a sharpness in her gaze. "Who is it?"
Jae answered without hesitation. "Choi Woobin. Chief Executive General Officer."
A faint, knowing hum left her lips. Right on time.
She let a brief silence stretch between them, just enough to keep Jae guessing, before she finally responded. "Schedule a meeting for two in the afternoon. If he arrives late, I won't see him."
There was no need to ask why Choi Woobin had come. She already knew.
Jae studied her carefully, searching for a hint of surprise, a flicker of emotion—but found nothing. Heaven was as composed as ever. Almost... expectant.
Still, he nodded. "Understood."
As he turned to leave, he couldn't shake the feeling that she had been waiting for this moment all along.
And as Heaven continued down the hall, a small, almost imperceptible smile ghosted across her lips.
She had been.
Heaven's POV
Ah, I knew it wouldn't take long for him to come crawling. They never last long—men like him. So predictable. So fragile behind their carefully crafted façades.
I've seen through his act from the very beginning. It's almost amusing, watching him maneuver, thinking he holds the upper hand. But I don't entertain illusions. I tear them apart.
There are very few things in this world that I truly despise: tardiness, laziness, liars.
And hybrid abusers.
Growing up as the youngest daughter of the illustrious Valentino family, I was never afforded the luxury of ignorance. From the moment I took my first breath, I was marked—a target for those who sought to weaken my family, to dismantle what we had built. Kidnappings, assassination attempts, betrayals cloaked in false smiles—I've seen it all.
