Arthit put his best shirt on, dabbed a little of Kongpob's favorite perfume and combed his hairs upwards the way Kong liked. Although, it was no use
Arthit has always believed , putting that little extra effort for dressing for his date, is showing them, both respect and affection. With a wine bottle, he arrived at their home — Kongpob's home.Kong opened the door with sleeves if his shirts folded till elbow and cute chef apron still tied around his waist. It brought smile unconsciously to Arthit's face.
" Thit " Kong greeted with a smile and a kiss on cheek. Arthit was glad Kong didn't go for lips, if he had, Arthit wouldn't have been able to pretend even though that was Kongpob's only condition and request. For them to have a normal date night.
" You cooked! "
" I did. " Kong grinned shutting the door behind Arthit " Don't worry , I haven't burned the kitchen "
Arthit shook his head... " Yet"
Kong grinned . " Night's still young, anything can happen. " he entered the Kitchen, Arthit hot on his heels.
" Why the hell did you cook on your own ? "Kong shrugged.
Arthit narrowed his eyes " If there's a single scratch in the kitchen. You are banned from kitchen , Kongpob! "
" For how long ? "
" Forever..." Arthit replied untying Kongpob's apron. He expertly pulled out a washed apron from a cabinet and turned to Kong " help me. "
Kong happily tied the apron, taking excuse of helping Arthit he discreetly hugged his husband.
" Kong..." Arthit warned.
" Its been a week " Kong replied , resting his head on Arthit's shoulder " please Mee Noi..."
I need this . Kong had left it unsaid.
Arthit turned and faced Kong. There was no need for words. Kong needed this. He gathered Kong in his arm and the later eagerly melted in his arms, the tension visibly leaving his body. By habit, Arthit ran his fingers through Kongpob's hairs, Kong sighed in relief.
" I miss you "
Arthit stiffened, his hands dropped at his side. He slowly backed away, giving Kong time to gather his senses back.
Finally, gently pushing Kong away, he turned towards the stove " What's the menu ? " he asked, pretending to be excited.
" Just minestrone soup and rice. And choco lava cupcakes . " Kong replied scratching his head. " You enjoy minestrone soup, I thought I could try ..."
Arthit just nodded. No witty or savage reply.
Kongpob fully expected him to say, atleast its not chips and nomyen.
Not that Arthit had not happily munched on it , but he never let him forget their candle lit dinner of chips and finger foods. Those were days filled with hustle and struggle but also immense hope and love." You sit , I will bring our dinner. " Kong made him sit in the newly decorated room , overlooking their cure little backyard garden.
The same garden that Arthit had designed and grown for Kongpob. It was a little replica of Kongpob's mom's garden, he had seen at their estate. A happy green patch with a table and few chairs and lots of plants and an arch of boganvellia and few black roses.
Kong had been overwhelmed when Arthit had shown his little project. It was favorite corner of Kongpob. Kong said, it made him feel closer to his parents.
" Bon Appétit " Kongpob's voice dragged Arthit back from his soliloquy.
" Bon Appétit " Arthit murmured, picking up cutlery with great effort. He didn't want to be there, infront of Kongpob. Pretending like nothing wrong. Kongpob didn't deserve this. His husband had already faced huge backstabbing and great losses at the delicate age of 14.
