"Wow, she's alive" Brielle exclaimed, a mix of surprise and delight in her tone.

"Oh, stop!" Camilla laughed. "I have been very preoccupied"

"You're not pregnant again, are you?" Brielle asked.

"Definitely not"

"Thank God, let that man get off of you this year" Brielle replied, causing Camilla to burst out laughing.

"Well, considering you've been up under Mr Noah for all this time, are you pregnant?"

"Not a chance" Brielle scoffed. "Unless that man puts a ring on it, I'm not adding any more to my mommy resume. One baby daddy is enough for me. Can't be juggling two."

"You never know, though. 40 might just sweep you off your feet and down the aisle." Camilla reassured her.

"Yeah, we'll see. Enough about that, do you think you can muster up the energy to leave your husband and kids at home to come out with us tonight?"

"Hmm..." Camilla paused and looked over at a sleeping Aubrey, then back at the phone. "I hate leaving the boys though"

"Save it! Get get a sexy outfit together and I'll be there to pick you up at 10:30pm. Your kids will be in bed way before that"

"Okay, fine!" Camilla laughed.

Amid the responsibilities of adulthood, Camilla had rarely found time for these reunions. The ever-familiar "let's plan something for weeks from now" that often ended in scheduling chaos seemed to have become the norm. Lives once entwined now spanned distinct paths, each friend navigating their unique stages.

Camilla, embracing the role of a devoted housewife, found herself engulfed by the world of family and her newfound need to find herself outside of being just that sometimes took precedence.

Brielle was embracing motherhood herself, embarked on the journey of self-discovery intertwined with her on and off relationship with 40.

Meanwhile, Alisha, was newly married and embarking on a fresh career path. The differences were apparent, but their friendship remained unbreakable.

It was almost like the hours in the day were purposefully going fast, before Camilla knew it she only had a short amount of time to get ready for her girls night.

"Who is that?" Aubrey smirked, walking into the bathroom as Camilla was adding the final touches to her look.

"Oh God" Camilla giggled, rolling her eyes. "You don't like it?"

"I love it" he smiled, scanning her face and body. Her black two piece out and thigh high boots almost took him back to the Camilla from a few years ago. "You look good, baby. But that's the norm, right?" He pecked her on the mouth.

"Thank you" she grinned. "Brielle will be here soon. So, remember the boys usually sleep through the night, Aaron might not because of-"

"Yes baby, because of the teething and the gel is in their bathroom, there's the breast milk pops that you froze in the freezer- you realise these are my kids too, right? I'm not the babysitter" Aubrey chuckled.

"I know, I'm sorry. But, this is my first night out in a while and I'm nervous"

"It's all good" Aubrey held her hands and pulled her into a hug. "You look beautiful and you're gonna have a good night"

Camilla's reaction made Aubrey realise how little attention he had paid to the fact his wife didn't do much outside of their bubble. He often went out with his friends, and despite the fact that Camilla didn't complain that she didn't socialise, it was probably more necessary than thought.
