A Moment Too Late

Ch 1 - The Lockdown

I stare out the window in class, twirling my pen. It was just another normal day, but I was truly wrong as I soon heard an announcement over the school speakers.

"ATTENTION ALL STAFF AND STUDENTS! A LOCKDOWN IS UNDERWAY AS MUTLIPLE VILLAINS HAVE BEEN SPOTTED ON SCHOOL GROUNDS!"

After hearing this I quickly look back outside the window and saw 6 villains walking closer towards the school.
'I need to do something and draw them away from the school!' I say to myself in my head.
"Hey Kaneko... What are you doing?" Shinsou asks.
"I'm going to draw the villains away from the school." I say quietly to Shinsou.
"WHAT?! You could be killed!!" Shinsou said, getting a bit louder.
"I have to do this Shinsou." I say calmly then rush out of the classroom.
"KANEKO, COME BACK!!" Shinsou shouts as he watches me leave.
I sprint through the hallway, running past scared students and staff. I jump down a small flight of stairs and exit the building, but notice the villains are standing right in front of me.
'SHIT!' I think to myself.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" Dabi asks as he stares at me.
'Crap, they have me surrounded! I need to draw them away.'
I quickly look around and spot an opening I could run through between the villains. I make good use of my quirk, pushing myself forward past the villains with a blast of fire.
"GET HIM!!" Shigaraki shouts.
All 6 villains start to chase me, but I lose them in an old building a block away. While inside the building I quickly hide behind a wall to catch my breath.
"Damn, they are fast... I better hurry or they'll catch me..." I mumble to myself.
I finally manage to catch my breath and cautiously find my way out of the building, but in the process of escaping I was caught by one of the villains.

Back at UA-

"AIZAWA SENSEI!!" Shinsou shouts while sprinting towards Aizawa.
"Hm...? Something wrong Shinsou?" Aizawa asks, tilting his head in confusion.
"Kaneko... He..." Shinsou started to say, lowering his gaze.
"What happened to Kaneko?"
"He ran past the villains to draw them away from the school..." Shinsou said, getting a bit emotional.
"HE WHAT!?"
"I told him to come back, but by the time I finished telling him, Kaneko was already out the door." Shinsou said, adjusting his shirt.
Aizawa sighed then rested his hand on Shinsou's shoulder.
"It's alright, we will find him." Aizawa said reassuringly.
Shinsou sighed then nodded his head.
"Go tell Principal Nezu what happened, and I'll get a small team ready. Meet back here when you're done telling Nezu the news." Aizawa said, turning to leave afterwards.
"Alright Aizawa Sensei."

At the L.O.V Headquarters-

"HEY, WAKE UP!!" Dabi said, kicking me in the abdomen.
I gasp from the impact and force my eyes open.
"Now that you're awake, you're going to tell us some information about UA High School. If you refuse, be prepared to suffer!!" Dabi said, kicking me once more.
I gasp and cough then slowly stand up, using the wall as support.
Dabi soon grabbed me and forced me into a chair, restraining me so I couldn't escape.
"Now tell us everything you know." Dabi said in a cold manner.
"NEVER!!" I say, spitting on Dabi's face.
Dabi backed up and cleaned the saliva off his face. Afterwards he used his quirk, burning parts of my body. I scream from the agonizing pain, but I didn't say a word.
"He's not going to break." Twice said. 
"Kill him." Shigaraki said, cracking his knuckles.
My eyes widen as I see a girl with blonde hair walking towards me with a disturbing smile on her face and a knife in her hand.

Back At UA-

Shinsou bursts through the door, looking frantic and distraught.
"Everything alright Shinsou?" Nezu asks calmly.
"NO!! EVERYTHING IS NOT ALRIGHT!!!!" Shinsou snaps.
"Tell me what's wrong." Nezu says calmly.
"Those villains that were here are gone... Kaneko drew them away from the school. They chased him and I don't know if he's alright or not..." Shinsou said, staring at the floor while clenching his hands into fists.
"I see... I will get a few pro heroes to help along with the police."
Shinsou nods his head then turns to leave.
"We will find Kaneko. Don't worry." Nezu says as Shinsou leaves.
"We better find him. He's all I have..." Shinsou mutters then leaves Nezu's office.
After Shinsou leaves he runs down a few hallways to meet up with Aizawa.
