" Don't wait up, Pops! "

"When I was told that we were coming to Beacon Hills on a mission to recruit a new alpha, I figured he would, you know... Actually, be an alpha!" Asher Lewis, a fifteen-year-old werelion in a pack of alpha werewolves, asked one of said alphas as she marched around the apartment he had somehow rented for their time here.

"Asher-" the alpha named Deucalion started, the glasses over his eyes gleaming.

"Like, come on! This is a seventeen-year-old boy that isn't even an alpha yet, Deuc. Why are we here?" Asher complained. "I hate it here."

"As we've heard. Multiple times," droned Kali, another alpha, from the kitchen.

Asher shot her a glare. The woman smiled sarcastically.

"Asher, please. We have all heard about your hatred for this place, and we understand, okay? But it is for a good reason," Deucalion told her.

She groaned loudly, walking over to where he sat on the couch before flopping on it face first, "You all suck."

Aiden Steiner, who had been standing behind the couch, pulled himself over the back of it and fell on top of her. "We all know Ethan does," he chuckled to himself.

"Hey!" The mentioned werewolf shouted from their shared bedroom.

Asher pushed herself up, shoving Aiden off and to the ground as well. She laughed while sitting up straight, "Good one." Her demeanor quickly changed, "But still!" Her gaze focused back on their leader, "Why!?"

"Take a deep breath and calm down, A," said the usual gruff voice of their other pack member, Ennis. Also known as the one who pretty much adopted Asher when she eight. "Once we get what we came for, I'll make sure we're gone as soon as possible," Ennis nodded to her then shot Deucalion a sharp look. (One that they all knew he couldn't see but could understand based on chemo-signals.)

The blind man nodded with an annoyed sigh, "Yes, yes, we're leaving as soon as possible."

Kali glanced over and shared a glance with her boyfriend - yes, her and Ennis were together -, and their expressions were not full of trust.

"You know what? I'm going for a walk!" Asher announced, standing up and carefully stepping over Aiden, who had not stood up and instead laid leisurely on the floor. She looked over her shoulder and pointed at Ennis when she reached the door, "Don't wait up, Pops."
