"come here i wanted to show you something"
i walked with him to the corner of the property, and on the outskirts if the tree line i could see a small barn, it was weather beaten red with a Patina roof,
you would never have found it if you weren't looking for it,
„what are we doing here, what's in it?"
he disregarded all of your questions

you understood when he Split off the rusty pad lock, and opened the doors,

„now i understand if you don't like it, most kids wouldn't ha-
„i love it,

„i know it needs some work but, we can get her, together"
„gramps, i don't know what to say"

you skipped that week of school, since you knew you'd be in trouble anyway,
you took this time to help your grandfather with the car, he practically may as well move in the shed he spent so much time there,

that next week it was done
it had only needed minor repairs,

he said he'd  you drive it when you went back to school,
which was tomorrow

i dread this so bad, i got in the bell air and turned the radio up to cover the racket of a loose pipe,
Ernest tubs walking the floor over you sounded out,

you arrived at school, everyone stealing glances, oohing and ahhing at the old car,
you let it idle a minute before i shut the engine off,

had earned me cat calls and curse words,
some cheering also from the others that didn't like Kelby,
i felt another set of eyes from behind me, i looked to meet a pair of ocean blue eyes, you could drown looking at them,

you quickly walked to class, where you noticed the new guy, he was sitting with a girl younger than you
he was just line all the other transfer kids here,

mr Hendrik came in
„ today class we have a lab due, i will assign partners,

we did the stupid lab and as class dismissed carrol handed me a letter, it was small but read
„ texaco lot, 4pm
and you couldn't help but wonder who it was from
the bell rang a short time after and you discarded your books to your locker, which you opened to find a letter from kelby, it was an attempt to be threatening, but you didn't worry about someone who didn't have the balls to say anything to your face

but that wasn't the only one,

you had barley spoken to him, lunch being the only time,

you got in your car driving to the old texaco that had closed many years before,

you were sitting in the drivers seat just stairing at the old neon signs, as you heard the familiar sound of tires, it was 4
a nervous feeling kept up on you, as you recognized this as the new guy

it wasn't a set up like you thought it was,
it was the new guy billy not bitchy kelly

he pulled up to your car reving the loud camero
he wanted to race,
you reved the old bell air its sound definitely audible from inside the car,
his tires squeeled as he started

you followed closely behind
now speeding down the highway side by side,
your speedometer read 95
this street was used for this soul purpose, everyone knew that it ended at the turn around, just before the feild,
but not you

light was fading quickly from the sky as you know relied on your headlights
now speeding towards the end you couldnt see the road anymore, you had definitely won but now the stakes were up
for your life and car,
because 115 on a grassy felid was a death sentence

you hit the brake and spun all the way around,
headlights now facing the road,

the camero slowly pulled next to you
the driver rolling down the window, you did the same,

"you alright there princess"
"yea im fine"
„ ive seen plenty of guys flip like that, but your careful aren't ya"
„no i just have a heavy one"
he sighed while shaking his head
„so where ya wanna go to eat doll its on me"
„oh im sorry i have a date tonight"

he hit the steering Wheel
„damn, well ill see ya around princess"
„alright see ya"
you sped off, showing off as you took the turns fast,

you arrived home, and asked your grandfather if you could go, he said yes
getting ready you put on a green and white dress
it matched your light brown hair perfectly,
placing heels on and doing your makeup, you looked perfect,
