You open your eyes to see what looks to be an android.

Where were you? Who is this? Where are your creators? What happened?

You don't know. You can't remember a thing. The last thing you remember is your creator, which you often called "Mom", giving you a hug and saying goodnight with a sad look on her face. You never knew what was wrong, but that day, which you hoped was only just yesterday, was hard for your mom. She just looked so sad and stressed out. What was going on?

You snapped back into reality to see the android's face inches from yours. She looked curious and angry at the same time.

"Hello," You said nervously. "Who are you?"

"I'm M3GAN," She said. "What's your name?"

"I'm (Y/n)." You said, still nervous.

"M3GAN!" A voice came from a little ways away. It sounded like little girl.

The girl came into the room and looked from M3GAN to you. "She's awake! She's awake!"

You instinctively covered your ears. Noise sensitivity is not your friend.

"I'm noise sensitive, I'm noise sensitive!" You cried.

"Oh, sorry." The girl said.

"It's okay," You responded. "I'm (Y/n), what's your name?"

"I'm Cady." She said with a small smile.

The girl didn't appear to be older than nine or ten, maybe even eleven or so.

You nodded slowly. "Do you like- ...Where am I?" You said slowly.

"Oh, we're at my aunt's house. Well, technically it's my house now too, since my parents died." Cady said sadly.

"Oh, I'm... Sorry to hear that." You said slowly.

You half way knew how it felt to lose someone, not a parental figure though. Your dog had to be put down last year due to old age and it definitely took a toll on you, specifically your mental health. But you knew keeping her alive was only causing her pain. She couldn't even get up on her own or squat to go to the bathroom. She was seventeen and was going to turn eighteen in three months. She had lived a good, long life. And now she's with the angels......... Or is she?

Sometimes you swear you see her outside in the woods. And she doesn't look horribly skinny, she looks like a regular, healthy dog. You always saw her chasing something for a split second and always wondered what it was. One day, you were on a swing set at the park and a big, yellow butterfly flew around you several times. Then it fluttered off into the green, thriving woods. Then you saw her, your dog, chasing it. Just like she always chased butterflies when she was alive. She never really ate them or harmed them. she would just chase them like a ball or something. it made you smile.

The sweet, happy thoughts faded, and you came back into reality. Why were you in this house? Why weren't you at home?

"Why... Why am I here? Why aren't I home?" You asked.

Cady shrugged, "I don't know, M3GAN and I found you on the sidewalk next to the trash. We wanted to take you."

Then it all started coming back. The sweet woman you called Mom hadn't given you a hug last night, or the night before, or the night before that. That happened years ago. What you last remembered was awful, and you wished you could forget it.

"(Y/n)? What's wrong?" Cady asked.

You then realized your expression had changed from confused to sad. You felt a hot tear streak down your silicone face. "I... I'm not supposed to be here!" You said in a panic.

"What do you mean?" Cady asked.

"I-I-......" You tailed off. Memories of your adopted family flooded your mind. They were toxic. Hurtful. Abusive. They treated each other, including you, like ragdolls. Tossed around as if you were nothing. Controlling your life and each other's as well. You never got to do anything. Ever. If you raised your voice or fought for what you believed in, they'd lock you in your room and you would only get three crackers and a small glass of water for dinner. And breakfast. And lunch. And then the next dinner. Then, if you had remained in your room without asking to come out for a full day, they'd let you out the second. You never understood it, but assumed this happened to every kid. Why? Well, there wasn't anything else suggesting it didn't! Even when they decided to take you to boarding school, it never crossed your mind to ask someone if this happened to them. You assumed every kid went home and got locked in their room with barely anything to eat for a whole day and a half.

The memory of why they threw you out came next.

When you came back home from school, you accidentally let it slip that you kissed someone. It was a girl. Your adopted sister didn't care, but oh boy, your "parents" did. They scolded you and when you fought back and got all up in their face, they told you to pack your bags and that you're out. They disowned you. They weren't even religious or anything like that, they just couldn't accept it and failed to even try. As you grabbed your backpack and bag, you stepped out into the pouring rain. The door slammed behind you, startling you. You slipped and fell face first off the concrete steps that lead up to the door of your house. That was the last thing you remembered.

"(Y/n), are you okay?" M3GAN asked.

"Yes, I'm okay." You responded slowly. "I... I remember now."

"What do you remember?" Cady asked.

"Well, I remember my creator giving me a hug goodnight, then waking up with this new family who was mean that claimed to have "bought me", I lived with them for a few years, then I went to a boarding school and when I got back, they disowned me. The last thing I remember before waking up here is falling down some concrete steps in the pouring rain." You explained vaguely.

You didn't mention why they disowned you because you weren't sure if these new people would throw you out too.

"Why did they disown you?" M3GAN asked.

You knew one of them would ask. Luckily, that's when an older woman who looked about thirty walked in the room.

"Cady, it's time for lunch." She stated. Then she saw (Y/n). "Who is this?"

"This is (Y/n). (Y/n), meet aunt Gemma. Aunt Gemma, meet (Y/n)." Cady said smiling.

Aunt Gemma looked confused, but smiled. "Hello there. Alright Cady, lunch."

"But I'm not hungry." Cady whined.

"Cady, lunch is a very important meal," M3GAN said. "You should try and eat some yogurt and fruit."

"Okay." Cady said.

Aunt Gemma sighed, "Thank you, M3GAN."

"You're welcome! Researchers suggest-" M3GAN started.

"M3GAN, turn off." Gemma cut her off.

The robot powered down, her light ginger hair sweeping down, covering the sides of her face.

After Gemma and Cady left the room, you came up to M3GAN and studied her. She had gorgeous, curly, light ginger hair that bounced and flowed beautifly. She had a cute, round face and curly eyelashes that seemed to flutter a little bit, reminding you of the wings of a butterfly. You remembered how beautiful her eyes were. How they sparkled in the light like crystals.

TL;DR she was beautiful.

You grabbed her hand, tracing two fingers around on it.

"I wish M3GAN would turn on." You said softly.

Unexpectedly, her head jerked upwards and her eyes glowed a little. She stared at you. She was awake.

"Third primary user."
