Since I didn't recognise Jeremy to be from around here, I had expected my first encounter with him to be the last. However, three days later I'm stocking up the cereal and the first thing I see when I turn around is him, with a candy bar clutched in his hand. "Hey [Y/N]!" He beams. I take a step back, slightly startled by his arrival. "Oh, sorry. Didn't mean to scare you there."
"It's fine. I'm just used to not having many customers."We stand around for a few seconds, unsure of what to do until Jeremy decides to restart the conversation. "So I was wondering.." He pauses to think, putting his hands in his pockets. "When is your- I mean when does your-" Fumbling over his words, he gets his hands back up and nervously fidgets with them. It's rude of me to judge but his frustrated mumbles almost make him seem deranged. I know he's just anxious though so I patiently nod my head. Eventually, he says it. "Would you wanna maybe hang out sometime?" I'm somewhat hesitant on what I should say. We've only exchanged less than 10 sentences with each other! But he seems like a nice enough guy and I'm charmed that he came down here to ask me. "Yeah, sure! My shift ends at 6, where should we go?" I ask. He answers instantly. "My place. I can pick you up from here." Again, I hesitate. I wouldn't want to end up on a missing persons flyer. And of course I barely knew him. Despite my second thoughts, I agree. He wouldn't be that kind of guy, right?
His face brightens and he gives me his signature grin. "Great. I'll see ya then!" He strolls away but quickly puts the candy bar on the counter before leaving. He didn't buy anything.
Creator's Note: Hey, sorry this chapter is so short. I'm really excited to expand this, even if it's just a silly Jerma fanfic. Also, I'd like to add that this isn't a reader x Jerma fanfic. I just don't want people to get confused. Bye!
