                                                                                       -GLORY-

« Pineapple! Come quickly! The egg is hatching! »Yelled Vine from the nest near the blue sparkling waterfall. » « Did someone say something? » thought Pineapple as she just finished peeling her speckled yellow banana. She sighed as the white clouds retreated and the sun shone on her scales reflecting the fiery yellow on her outstretched wings. Everything was fine, but for some reason she couldn't relax. « I feel like I've forgotten something. » sighed Pineapple as she bit into the top of the perfectly ripe banana. « Wait. » She heard something being called from the other end of the forest. She strained her ears and heard someone faintly calling her name.

Pineapple racked her brain and tried to think if she'd forgotten anything. Suddenly realization hit her. « No! » It was her eggs hatching day! Pineapple jumped out of her hammock and started running towards the sound of her mates voice. She bounded over the fallen trees and vines as fast as she possibly could. Suddenly she tripped over a exposed root and hit the ground hard. Luckily, the ground was a bed of fresh dirt and it braced her fall. She quickly recovered but winced from the open gash on her arm.

When she made it back, her soulmate was waiting for her with a anxious look on his light blue  face. When Vine turned around, his look dissolved and jumped over to Pineapple and dragged her to the dirt and straw nest lined with scales.  She gasped lightly when she saw that their egg had a small crack coming from the top and creeping down the side. The egg lightly rocked as the time ticked by. Pineapple and Vine interlaced tails and grinned at each other.  Crack!  a talon popped out of the egg and wiggled at her parents as if saying, hi for the first time! The egg wobbled unsteadily and the top cracked off revealing a tiny dragonet. Both Vine and Pineapple turned a bright shade of pink and rushed over to meet their new dragonet.

The tiny dragonet shook her wings and sprayed if all the gunk coating her from head to tail and fell on her tail. When she looked up and saw her parents, she stood up as tall as she could and squeaked « Urple! » Her mom picked her up and thought for a moment. At last she spoke « I think I'll call you Glory. »
