As nami arrived to school finishing her food, she got her schedule and wandered towards the library. The vast majority of teen fiction caught her eye.

When she was wandering the isles a few caught her eye that she'd wanted to check out. Glancing at the check out line she saw on of the lights skins from the corner store returning science books. She caught his name vaguely. Nootie?

She had an enternal fight between herself on if she should even walk over to the check out line but she as she was zoning out she could hear him calling her over.

"yo ma, you was tryna check out? I'm done."
Notti being the most socially intelligent of the group could tell she was a bit out of place and overall shy as hell. "yo my heart?"
he looked at the girl with a mug slightly because she wasn't answering.

Nami thought he must've believed she was slow or something because she froze. "oh. sorry i kind of do that." Nami felt like an idiot and she was more confused on why people kept calling her "my heart" she never experienced being so nicely addressed.

In detroit they were rude and cold, she greeted her closest friends with a "wasgood gang" or a resting bitch face that would evolve as soon as she spoke to someone she was extremely comfortable around.

"you good gangsta. you ever been to harlem before?" Notti was more patient than she ever experienced. All of her friends she had back home knew her since kids and everyone who didn't know her didn't care to get to. They thought she was an asshole and minded their business.

"I just moved here a couple months ago." She pushed up her glasses and looked straight ahead avoiding eye contact and they walked closer to check out. "I live with my cousin dotty— edot"

"yo dotty ya cousin?" Notti made a mental note to ask him about the girl because she seemed to be different than him. He he couldn't put his finger on why because they had the same chill demeanor but this girl sure as hell didn't speak.

"yeah, at least that's what they told me my whole life"

The two ended in front of the scanner and librarian. "Student ID?" Nami paused typing in her 6 digits 506790. "Namiko Williams?"

Namiko silently nodded after hearing her butcher her name. "nah you gotta say it like 'NAAAA-ME-CO' mrs. brown." Notti didn't know why he felt the need to stick up for the passive girl but he considered she would be a great balance to him and his brothers. He couldn't wait to introduce her, he gave her an aura.

"Oh, sweet heart I apologize, my old brain so hard to keep up with this new generation. Namiko darling is Ethan here doing a great job introducing you to the school?" Mrs. brown mad small talk with Nami as she scanned her novels.

Nami on the other hand had no idea who Ethan was she could have sworn this kids name was nootie. None the less she nodded and beamed at Mrs. brown.

When the two finished watching the older woman scan her items they walked away from the desk. The air became awkward and Nami's face began to heat up. She didn't know if she should but she cleared her throat to speak anyways. "I thought your name was nootie?"

Ethan giggled at little at the clueless girl. "I'm Notti like 'not one of them' ie at the end. that's a rap name though gangsta, the streets use it, friends use it, but teachers and them call me Ethan cause i'm Ethan Reyes legally."

"sorry," Nami mumbled. "I'm Namiko but i guess you know that because you told the lady how to say it. Everybody calls me Nami."

"yo worda bro I was just guessing by your face that ain't how you say Namiko."

Nami slightly laughed and smacked her lips, stale facing Notti. She didn't have the slightest clue how to get to her world history class but she guessed Ethan saw her schedule on the screen when her schedule popped up, so she just followed along roaming the hallways.
