ANALYN POVDo you have any idea how many shades of green there are?
I do and I can't count that high. But I'm staring at all of them right this very second. All billions and trillions shades of green are staring back at me in the form of two eyes. The seconds grow longer and if Harry gets any closer, I cannot be held accountable for my actions.
I will jump his bones. Right here. Right now.
Was the mood between us always this intense? Were we always on the verge of crashing into each other with little to no warning? It's been years since we've stood this close for this long, but flashbacks of bedrooms, showers, and dressing rooms play through my mind faster than my brain can decipher.
Get a grip Analyn!
I watch his fingers flex out of my peripherals, like they're dying to grasp onto something, anything. His eyes drop down to my lips for what feels like the millionth time. This time his gaze lingers longer than before making my stomach and face drop even more than I thought it could. He steps closer again, closing more space between us. I swear at this point he can hear my heart beating out of my chest. I can hear the sound of it drowning my ears while my knees go weak.
I take a deep breath, anticipating something that I actually find myself wishing for.
I want him to kiss me. I'm hoping he does. I'm hoping he grabs me by my neck, keeping a steady hand there, while the other holds my jaw as his lips mold to mine igniting a fire deep within.
He takes a breath and I almost miss the twitch of his fingers.
"Do you drink wine?" he asks.
What?
"What?" the shock in my voice doesn't go unnoticed.
Not what I was expecting Harry, not at all.
"Wine? Do you still drink it?" he asks again. "Y'know, fancy grape juice?"
I deadpan, oh he's got jokes now.
"Yes Harry," I roll my eyes as a smile stretches on my face. He holds my gaze for a second, looking at my lips one last time before licking his own and walking towards the large windows.
I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding in.
I collect my bearings internally and follow him. He pushes a button to the left of the first window and the thin shades covering the entire wall start to open, folding in like an accordion.
"Woah," I breathe.
"Sick hm?" I look over at Harry, he has a smug look that would piss me off if it was on any other face.He reaches for a latch on the windows and opens one of the windows. Because of course they're not windows, they're doors that lead to his backyard.
He stands off to the side, a very proud grin on his face. "After you," he motions me through the door.
I step out onto the large stone patio into a deep blue and purple sky. I hadn't realized the sun already set.
Among the gorgeous shades of the afterglow, greenery nearly swallows us whole. A large grass lawn with shrubs of various sizes, trees, tall grass, tropical and vine-like plants and flowers line the vast yard enclosing us in a jungle-like space. It feels so dreamy and lush, you can get lost in it just by looking at it. It's like staring into a deep green abyss.
Far out to the left there's a small light blue structure that looks like a tiny home.
"Pool house," Harry says, noticing me staring off in its direction. He stands by me with his hands clasped behind his back. He points out to the right of the pool house, at a thick green line of shrubbery and vines. "the pool is right behind that green fence."
