"Argh!"
Her lilac eyes stared at the smoking gun barrel behind the person in front of her, her breaths quick and shallow. The screams of pain coming from one of the people who wanted her rang on her ears, her self appointed body guard moved forward grabbing the screaming thug from the ground. "Tell me, who do you work for!? Why do they want the girl!?." He questioned the thug, "I won't tell ya' jack shit! What'eva you're gon' do the boss'll do worse." The thug spat out, pain evident on his voice.
Cocking the hammer of his gun Jaune pointed the barrel of his gun on under the thugs head, "I won't asked again. Who. Sent. You.!?." He snarled, the thug laughed. "Hahaha ya' think I'll rat 'em out?! You killed Mikey Ovah there!, Even if I know why the boss wants' the girl I won't tell ya' anythin'! So you can burn in hell!." The thug said, Jaune nodded slowly. "Alright you're a loyal one, I can respect that." Jaune said before pulling the trigger, he can hear Raylla scream behind him. "But loyalty can't do nothing against a dust round point blank in the head now can it?." He asked the corpse before turning behind to the girl behind him.
"You alright?." He asked her, and she nodded albit shakily. "Good, 'cause we need to get out of here. Fast, those gun shots already attracted too much attention already. So let's go." He said, his gun dematerializing as he carried her bridal style. Just in time as they heard hostile shouts and revving engines coming towards them fast. He ran as fast as he can ignoring the complaining from the one he's carrying on his hands.
As quick as he is a runner the people chasing them on cars are evidently faster, as they are quickly gaining on them. Jaune glanced at his surroundings finding places he could see to slip into where the enemy vehicles couldn't. And after a few turns he found one, an old run down building where it's windows are shattered and broken. Jumping into one of the broken windows Jaune released his breath, one he didn't even realize he was holding in. Looking down he saw his companion sitting on the ground hugging her feet.
"Shit, Forgot this is your first time seeing someone die." He said to the girl, and gave him a response that surprised him, she shook her head no. "Not really, I've seen Chosen die at the castle training ground at times. Some died because of accidents, some died because they overused their Magic even when their Aura is no longer there." Raylla replied nonchalantly, "But it is my first time getting potentially kidnapped, Mother was right. I shouldn't have come here. It was stupid for me to do so, and I've even gotten you involved."
Crouching in front of her he held her shoulder, comforting her. "Hey I know we just met but, it's not your fault I'm here. No one is to blame here, I came here of my own volition out of basic human decency." He told her, "And plus, it would be irresponsible for me to let a pretty girl such as yourself to be alone on the shady parts of the kingdom now would I?" He gave her a small smile, she then looked up at his eyes. "But what about my mother!, Surely she wouldn't appr-!." She tried to say but he cut her off.
"But nothing!, There are times where our parents don't know what's good for us. And trust me, I know." He said, recalling the time when his own parents unsupportive attitude towards his profession. "But, and this is about to sound contradictory to what i just said. At this instant your mother was right, you made a reckless decision without thinking of the possible repercussions. If you hadn't met me by the docks and still somehow manage to evade those guards, you would be caught by the moments you went inside this part of town." He scolded her.
She clenched her fists at his words. "You think I didn't realize that?, You think I just went here. Disobeyed my own mother, because of some rebellious teenage phase?. You know what? Just leave me alone!." She shouted as she pushed him to the ground, as she stood up and ran outside. The sudden action stunned Jaune but before he stood up and tried to ran after her, but as he arrived outside she was already gone. Which was surprising considering she looked weak and fragile. The opposite of the woman who he came to love. "Fuck!"
Jaune said, "Ghost any idea where she went?" He asked his companion who materialized beside him. "No, unfortunately not. You know you shouldn't have said that." Ghost said floating beside him, Jaune released a tired sigh. "I know I messed up, but I thought that it would help her not do anything drastic. Like what she did JUST right now." He replied, "Well I guess their personalities are somewhat similar then. Good for you." His companion replied, "But enough chatter let's find her before she gets herself into more trouble."
Jaune wanted to argue more but decided against that. Ghost was right, he still has to find Ya- Raylla before she finds more trouble. "Even in another universe you still manage to give me a headache huh babe?." He sarcastically muttered to himself, as he climbed a building after subconsciously deciding to have the high ground. After hours of alternating between the rooftops and the city streets, he still found no sign of her. That is until a stroke of luck he overheard three thugs talking loudly.
About catching a blonde girl and sending her to their boss, deciding to know more he slowly walked behind them. Materializing his knife on his right hand, he charged forward, grabbing the first one by the neck and stabbed him in the chest, before he tossed the knife in the second ones skull. The third one tried to raise and point his gun but Jaune rushed and grabbed the gun before the thug could shoot it at him, punching the thug in the face and kneeing him in the stomach. Made the thug let go of his gun, Jaune then grabbed him by the hair and throat.
"Sorry to interrupt you guys but. You had an interesting conversation earlier, mind telling me the rest so, I don't rip your throat with my own hands." He growled at the thug, who nodded frantically. "I don't know -argh!!!." Jaune pressed at the thugs throat, "The girl is going to the boss, at the town square!." He said pointing behind him. "I swear man I don't know nothing else!. Please I -!!" The thug was then silenced by a loud sickening snap, Jaune watched as the thugs corpse slide down the wall he was pinned on.
Jaune heard that sickening excuse before, one to many times. He took one last glance at the corpses before speeding towards the direction the now dead thug pointed at, his knife dematerialized as he ran past it. "I guess I won't get used to that." He commented on it. Once again the used the rooftops as a faster mode of transportation. It didn't take long for Jaune to find what he was looking for. Below him was a modest sized camp. "How hasn't the local authorities found out about this?." He whispered, studying the encampment.
"Ghost, can you provide a heads up?. I'm going in." He said. "Yeah, why? You got a plan?." Ghost asked confused as she materialized beside him. "Yup, I'm going in." Jaune said as he jumped down the building. Making Ghost sigh, "Boys" she grumbled to herself. As she floating forward in the air before dematerializing.
