I woke up in a strange bed in an unknown room. It looked like it came straight out of a castle. The bed I was laying on had red bed sheets and a lot of red pillows. On the nightstand was an antique lamp and the room had a lot of paintings on the wall with names under it. They looked like famous people, it also had the dates they were born on. I got out and searched the room and tried not to panic. Where was I? Why was I here? And who was I? Oh wait, I knew that one. Vanessa Ravenbooth, the youngest detective to clear one of the most difficult cases yet. I looked around in the dark room and found a red coloured sofa. On the sofa was another woman. "Uhm, hey. Who are you?" I asked her as I carefully walked towards her. She had auburn hair and wore a red dress. She woke up just as confused as I had. "Where am I? Is Lewis's party over already? Did I black out?" "Who is Lewis?" I asked her. "My boyfriend", she said. "We had a party last night but I think I overdid it with the alcohol." Okay, I said to myself. Stay focused. You're in a strange room with a woman who also doesn't have a clue what's going on. I didn't know anybody named Lewis so he couldn't be behind it, right? "Hey, this isn't Lewis's house. Who are you?" "My name is Vanessa, and yours?" "Amelia, nice to meet you." "Okay Amelia this might be a bit shocking but I want to be clear." Amelia nodded with a confused face. "I don't know where we are or who brought us here. I am certainly NOT from Lewis's party and I don't know who he is." She looked at me and then around the room until we heard a scream from outside our bedroom. "Do you want to check that out?" "Fine with me, I'll go first." I said as I walked towards the door. I opened it and behind it was a big hall. It was a large building with an elevator inside. I saw more doors who were all black with different zodiac signs printed on it. In the hall were two men fighting with each other while two other people were watching it. "This is all your fault! I never wanted to go and you forced me to! If you think this is some sort of sick prank then I will beat you till death!" "You are so dead!" The other one screamed. More doors opened with people running from the inside. "Stop that you two!" Someone yelled. A group of people, including myself and Amelia, went to the boys to stop them. When everyone was calmed down the room started filling itself with questions. "Where are we?" "What is your story?" "Help!" "Who are you?" A woman in her early twenties decided to speak up. "Can everybody be quiet please? Oh god you can all hear me now", she said with a nervous face. "Uhm, is it true that we all woke up in an unknown room?" "Yes." "Okay, and is it true that nobody has a clue of who is behind this?" "Yes." So no one knew where they were. We stopped our speech when we were interrupted by a voice from the speakers on the ceiling: "Hello players, welcome to my or should I say "your" escape room. You have been selected by intelligence, strength and your special ability to outrun death." It paused. The entire room went silent and everyone looked at each other. Amelia squeezed my hand tight, it was very obvious that she was afraid. "In front of you is a elevator, which will bring you all food and water each day from now on. It will also bring you to your new escape room every single day starting from tomorrow. The light in the building will go out at twelve and electronics like phones or computers won't be available during nighttime. The room that you woke up in will be the place to stay for you each night, switching is not possible unless it's with someone of the same sex.
